If you wanna do it for even less, then just buy 1x8" at your local Home Depot/Lowes and they'll cut it to any length you want. Way cheaper, and you can stain it, lacquer it, spray paint it, whatever you want. Do you really want them to be 12" deep?! If you're just gonna put games on em, then 8" is more than enough for ANYTHING. And again, it's cheaper with less material ;) |

if you get the 1x6 boards they hold UGC, DS and DVD cases perfectly. Cd has a very very small overhang. Thas what I used on my 3 towers. I used 1x12 on the bottom for the books. and 1x10 on the top for the slight overhang to hold the odd things. |

But Menards is peculiar....not everything in the store is on the page so there very well could be properly sized shelves in store. |
