Getting back on topic, another thing I have that is rare is The Neverhood for PC, Disc only. I have had this game for a long time, even before my first system, and it turns out to be worth around $50, and I love the game. Its a point and cliker, with claymation graphics and It has one of my favorite game soundtracks. I think it is now freeware, so it is worth a download.

Probably my second most prized stuff in my collection would be my reproductions. Not that they are worth a lot, but because I made them myself and it is a pain in the ass to do so.

Unless you have a steady hand....and lots of extra cash to put down for GOOD eprom writer (not one made in china), eprom eraser, eproms, wire, solder, iron, time, solder, time, solder, time, solder, and time...did I mention time? Its best to have someone else do it for you.

I know and it's " Klaymen-Klaymen" with a K  , Klayman is the main character. There was a sequel to The Neverood called "Skull Monkeys" on the PS1 and was released in the US, I still need to buy that one. I think there was another Japan exclusive game that was like a air hockey game with the characters.

thats a very basic guide for NES reproductions. Does not work for MMC3+ mapper games. Works best for games like "The Goonies", "Labyrinth", "Devil World" and a few others.

there is an easy way around it, gamereproductions.com will sell you pre-burned eproms for like $10 both CHR and PGR. Also, if you want to do an early NES game (No MMC), RetroUSB sells NES repica PCBs that all you have to do is drop eproms into, and play. My Labyrinth was made that way. My Earth bound (two words, like in the original NP article) is made from a Home Alone cart.

I have a toss up of 3 games All for the snes. They arnt super rare or super expensive but here they are.

Mega Man X (CIB,SIN) $20
I was in Wal-Mart when I was a kid and saw it brand new in the package. Loving the old nes Mega Man games I quickly snatched it up with the allowance I saved up.

Secret Of Mana (CIB, new but not sealed) $45/free
I was at the mall with my grandma and aunt, by now I had the love for rpg's and had read up on this game.
We walked by the game store, which I believe was EB games at that time, and saw it in a mark down  bin.
I said to my grandma how much I would like to have it.
Before we left the mall I stopped back by to look at it again and it was gone.
To my surprise, she picked it up for me when I was with my aunt and gave it to me for Christmas! Woo, I was happy.

Last but not least,

My cousin owned this game and we used to play it all the time as kids, one day he said I could have it and gave it to me. I still to this day love that game.

Man, The Neverhood!  My uncle had that game when I was younger.  He was the first member of my family to buy a computer, and that game came in a bundle with the system.  I remember him describing it to me, like, "You'll love this game!  The guy gets his head knocked off, or gets eaten alive, and you never run out of lives!"  I never got too far in the game, but I loved playing it.  Thanks for reminding me about that one!

Skullmonkeys, if I remember right, was panned when it came out.  I have an old issue of Game Players where they review it - their biggest gripe was that the game was very well-animated and controlled well, but that it was essentially a cookie-cutter platformer.  I guess they were expecting more from it, given the game that came before it.  I never played Skullmonkeys, but I probably will, one of these days.

Also, on the subject of repros, I **highly** recommend ocdreproductions.com.  Kody K., who runs the site, is a real nice guy, and gets orders out fast.  He also takes requests, which is how I got my copy of Tecmo Super Bowl 2012 - I designed the label, myself, and he printed it on the cartridge after he burned the game.  It's honestly and truly one-of-a-kind, and is definitely my most prized non-retail game.

If I ever get around to posting a pic of my itty-bitty collection (I have 32 games total, across 8 different systems) I'll be sure to show off the custom cover I made for that one.  I'd upload it to the site if I thought anyone would actually download it, but I'm pretty sure that one's something that only I'm interested in.  Oh, well.

I think one of the first video games I ever played was "Wheel of Fortune", for an early computer that my grandfather had. I also played "Malibu Grand Prix" on the Atari, and even the dreaded "E.T." as well (no, I never got anywhere with it). I got my own NES when i was about 9, and was addicted to the original "Super Mario" from that point.

Most prized = gargoyles quest II - $free I asked around amongst  my friends for vintage games and it was included in a box of 60+ NES carts. I never played it as a kid, but I really enjoyed the game today.

Most prized/valuable megaman(1) through X3 including megaman soccer collection + all GB, GBC megaman carts
I was able to pick up X2 & X3 as a lot for $70 and that was shortly before the crazy double and tripling in price that the megaman games have experienced. These games have the most significant personal nostalgia value.
