Most Prized In Collection - What you got + How Much $$?

Pages: (1/25) > >>

ShoothimNow:

I feel like I am going to be like Kelly starting this thread up (however Kelly's was "What's your most rare").  So I would like to start a thread on "Most Prized Collection".

Even though YOU may not pay this much for a game DOES NOT MEAN that others will not pay the price.  The fact is that people have, will, and most-likely pay more in the future for "RARE" games.  If you have a problem, go back to your emulator and/or flash carts

I am not the one who makes up these prices, but I do plan on collecting for resell later.  If I can buy cheap, f***, ill sell it for a profit down the road when I am financially challenged.  Look at Soldier Blade.  Only 1 on ebay, 2 in completed listings.  Both in completed listings sold ($80 loose [like mine] and $199 for complete).  I bought the game (with 10 others) and the system for $3.  Not bragging, but I mean... come on!  I may not be collecting to fill out a set of games, but SOME GAMES ARE HARD TO FIND.  The prices IMO are completely fair as they have been on the market for quiet some time and if you really wanted a copy of say Conkers Bad Fur Day for the N64, it has been out since March 5, 2001.  You have clearly had enough time to buy it within the 11 years it has been out.  The prices are high because it's a good game.  If it was a terrible game and one that EVERYONE HAS, I would say F*** that to the price!  [For example: went to a garage sale and a person wanted $10 each for SNES sports games! HA!].

It's not that I am cheap, it's that I know a good price when I see it.  If you are DIRELY IN NEED OF A GAME, Gamestop type stores / Ebay would be the way to go.  Otherwise, you have to HUNT for the good prices.  Couple weeks ago, my girlfriend found a fully functional Power Glove with all the hookups for $5.  FIVE DOLLARS.  I would have personally paid up to $60 for it, but FIVE DOLLARS!?!?  FUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuu....!!!!!

The way I see it, if a certain "someone" is complaining on how much a game costs, all I have to say is cut a little out from what you eat each day.  I am not saying "GO ON A DIET FATTY!".  I am saying, if you happen to go to McDonald's twice a week, try to go once.  You will save ~$5 each week.  In a month, you can afford a a pretty reasonably priced retro game that has good re-playability.

Don't cry that everything is too much money.  The fact is the game is:
1) No longer in print
2) No longer distributed
3) Copies are breaking on a regular basis from misuse / retards throwing them out.
4) Set "decreasing" SUPPLY vs "increasing" DEMAND
5) It's because the people who grew up playing those games are willing to spend lots of money to buy them.
5b) Not only are the people trying to re-buy them, they are trying (again.. a select FEW) to buy duplicates for backups

So my question to everyone is:

Highest Amount Paid For A Game: ____________
Highest Game Paid Title: _______________
