| ShoothimNow:
I feel like I am going to be like Kelly starting this thread up (however Kelly's was "What's your most rare"). So I would like to start a thread on "Most Prized Collection". Even though YOU may not pay this much for a game DOES NOT MEAN that others will not pay the price. The fact is that people have, will, and most-likely pay more in the future for "RARE" games. If you have a problem, go back to your emulator and/or flash carts Highest Amount Paid For A Game: $450 Highest Game Paid Title: Donkey Kong Country Competition Cartridge Honorable Mentions: NES: Battletoads & Double Dragon Best of the Best Championship Karate Bomberman (CIB) Contra Force Final Fantasy (CIB) Kirby's Adventures (MINT / CIB / SEALED) Mario Is Missing Mega Man 6 River City Ransom TMNT Tournament Fighters SNES: Adventures of Batman & Robin Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team Battletoads in Battlemaniacs Donkey Kong Country Competition Exertainment Mountain Bike Rally Legend Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past Mario Is Missing Mario Paint (CIB W/Mouse) Mega Man X Secret of Evermore Sim Ant Super Bases Loaded 3 (Sports, but Sealed) Super Mario All Stars (CIB) Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars SWAT Kats Uniracers (CIB) N64 Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker Conker's Bad Fur Day GameShark Pro v3.3 Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (Collector's Edition) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (CIB) Mario Kart 64 (CIB) Mario Party Mario Party 3 Mario Tennis (CIB) Mega Man 64 Mortal Kombat 4 Shadowgate 64: Trials of the Four Towers Star Fox 64 (with Rumble Pak) (CIB) Super Mario 64 (CIB) Super Smash Bros. If I can buy cheap, f***, ill sell it for a profit down the road when I am financially challenged. Look at Soldier Blade. Only 1 on ebay, 2 in completed listings. Both in completed listings sold ($80 loose [like mine] and $199 for complete). I bought the game (with 10 others) and the system for $3. Not bragging, but I mean... come on! I may not be collecting to fill out a set of games, but SOME GAMES ARE HARD TO FIND. The prices IMO are completely fair as they have been on the market for quiet some time and if you really wanted a copy of say Conkers Bad Fur Day for the N64, it has been out since March 5, 2001. You have clearly had enough time to buy it within the 11 years it has been out. The prices are high because it's a good game. If it was a terrible game and one that EVERYONE HAS, I would say F*** that to the price! [For example: went to a garage sale and a person wanted $10 each for SNES sports games! HA!]. It's not that I am cheap, it's that I know a good price when I see it. If you are DIRELY IN NEED OF A GAME, Gamestop type stores / Ebay would be the way to go. Otherwise, you have to HUNT for the good prices. Couple weeks ago, my girlfriend found a fully functional Power Glove with all the hookups for $5. FIVE DOLLARS. I would have personally paid up to $60 for it, but FIVE DOLLARS!?!? FUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuu....!!!!! The way I see it, if a certain "someone" is complaining on how much a game costs, all I have to say is cut a little out from what you eat each day. I am not saying "GO ON A DIET FATTY!". I am saying, if you happen to go to McDonald's twice a week, try to go once. You will save ~$5 each week. In a month, you can afford a a pretty reasonably priced retro game that has good re-playability. Don't cry that everything is too much money. The fact is the game is: 1) No longer in print 2) No longer distributed 3) Copies are breaking on a regular basis from misuse / retards throwing them out. 4) Set "decreasing" SUPPLY vs "increasing" DEMAND 5) It's because the people who grew up playing those games are willing to spend lots of money to buy them. 5b) Not only are the people trying to re-buy them, they are trying (again.. a select FEW) to buy duplicates for backups So my question to everyone is: Highest Amount Paid For A Game: ____________ Highest Game Paid Title: _______________ Again, mine are Highest Amount Paid For A Game: $450 Highest Game Paid Title: Donkey Kong Country Competition Cartridge |

Highest Amount Paid For A Game: $95 Highest Game Paid Title: Star Fox 2 Reproduction Yeah, ridiculous I paid that much for it, honestly I bid that just out of being annoyed I kept losing auctions on them thinking I would get outbid (they were going 100+ at the time) I can say I have bid some ridculous amounts but never won such as: 500$ on Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunters Edition Earthbound CIB 300$ - Crazy thing is I don't really care for boxes, but the EB one is so big I wanted it more for display piece lol |
