Genesis 2 / Mega Drive 2 RGB-Scart cable goes between the Genesis 2 (or 32-X if you are using it) and the Converter that converts RGB to Component signal or HDMI signal depening are you using the converter I (HDMI) suggeted or the one Zakurowrath (Component) suggested.

After that its up to you do you connect the signal that you now get to DVD0 EDGE or directly to your TV.

This cable would fair better since it has audio out:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Megadrive-Genesis-2-AV-RGB-Scart-cable-RCA-sound-/110697672171?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item19c6186deb

The 32x takes the audio from the Genesis and outputs it using it's own AV port.

If you want the other cable WITHOUT the audio out option, use the Stereo RCA output on the back of the SEGA CD.

As Arseen said, the SCART cable goes directly into the RGB to YUV converter. From the converter it goes to either your component switch box or directly to the DVD0 EDGE. The DVD0 EDGE upscales it and is outputted directly to the TV.

The threads get messy so I would just like to verify this info with you regarding getting the best possible video out of my Sega set-up without a MOD.

Facts about ME:

1.   I live in the USA with USA consoles and USA Televisions
2.   My set-up is Genesis 2 / Sega CD 2 / Sega 32X
3.   I run all my consoles thru the DVDO EDGE

You are telling me that I should buy this and have it coming OUT of my 32X:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Megadrive-Genesis-2-AV-RGB-Scart-cable-RCA-sound-/110697672171?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item19c6186deb

Run the previous cable into this thing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-SCART-to-RGB-YPbPr-YUV-Component-Video-Converter-/220698773448?pt=US_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3362ac07c8

And from that thing buy these to run into my DVDO EDGE:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RGB-6-CABLE-MALE-TO-MALE-W-FREE-SHIPPING-BUY-IT-NOW-/221026402269?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3376333fdd

And that would give me the best quality possible out of my Genesis / 32X / CD -- on all 3 units?

Yes.
Ok I just want Zakouwrath to confirm that too.  That would leave me with just two crappy composite signals -- From the NES top-loader & Sega Master System 2 (both modded for composite).  Any way to get a better picture out of those two without more mods?

That would be right, hopefully that DVDO Edge can upconvert low res component signals, which it should.

Ask for the NES and Sega Master System 2, the SMS2 can me modified for RGB.

The NES top loader however is a very expensive and extensive RGB mod but it can be done.

Real RGB or some conversion from composite/svhs?

Real. Swaps the PPU from a Playchoice 10 board onto the NES board. Theres way more to it but that's it in a nutshell, prohibitively expensive.

What about my s-video consoles?  Can I use RGB converters and SCART cords to improve these:  SNES, N64, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PSOne

SNES is RGB native, N64 can be modified for RGB, Saturn is RGB native, Dreamcast you can do either RGB or VGA (VGA is the better option) and PSOne is RGB native.

You just have to get the cables for each. A seller who sells all those cables is currently away, but I'll link them once she lists them again.

And since they're all SCART, you need a switch box, I'll see if I can find the one I have.

What is the switch box for?  Won't I need a switch box for my 32X then too?  I do not want to mod the N64.  Can't I just but cables for it?

Well if you want all the RGB capable consoles hooked up at one time then a switch box is the easiest thing to do. If not then you can just unhook the cable from the SCART to YUV convertor for each console when you wanna use them.

And no you can't. Nintendo didn't make the leads from the video chip to the AV port so that's why you need to mod it, but it's a simple mod as long as you have an early model. If you don't want to then S-Video still gives a pretty good image for the N64.
