You're not gonna get actual RGB outta any old system without giving a serious massage.

Ok Wiggy, see if you can figure out an RGB mod for my Genesis / 32X / CD combo instead of S-video...  RGB looks amazing!

You can get RGB out of the box on the 32X, you just need the proper cable and setup for it, no mod needed at all.

Does US Genesis / 32-X output RGB?
If yes I think your best bet is is to get RGB-scart cable and RGB-scart -> HDMI converter / upscaler I got mine from ebay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scales-SCART-signal-RGB-Composite-Video-Video-Audio-AV-HDMI-720p-1080P-/260873040904?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3cbd3eb408

Haven't tried it yet.

Those scalers are pretty nasty. Check to see how your TV handles low res signals by playing a PS1 game on a PS2 via component cables. If your TV manages to get a decent picture doing that then your safe to just buy a SCART to YUV transcoder. I ran my SNES into one and then to my Panasonic Plasma a few times, it's not perfect but it'll do until I can be bothered getting a decent scaler. Of course that'll be awhile since I have a killer Bang & Olufsen MX7000 CRT and have no real need to switch to an LCD.

Like I said, all you need is the proper cable and a proper setup for it, no modding required. All Genesis/MD variants output RGB except for both Wondermega models and some X'Eyes.

Can you link me to the cables I need then?  Are they on ebay?

If you are using the HDMI scaler link is in my post.
And then you need Mega Drive 2 RGB-scart and normal HDMI cable.

All can be found on ebay.

Here's the cable you need:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Megadrive-II-2-AV-RGB-scart-cable-TV-lead-NEW-/110697666334?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item19c618571e

And here's the converter you need:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEGA-SCART-to-RGB-YPbPr-YUV-Component-Video-Converter-/220698773448?pt=US_Audio_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3362ac07c8

The Genesis/CD/32x does output RGB since the 32x takes the Genesis RGB for mixing it's own signal. The audio can come directly from the Genesis headphone port if you have a model 1 or the RCA connectors on the Sega CD if you have a model 2.

Your HDMI scalier should take the low res component signal and upscale it for your TV. Best way to ensure it does is buy some PS2 component cables, pop a few PS1 games in and see if they display on your set using your scalier.

Of course if you want more RGB SCART then you're gonna have to get a SCART switch box with RCA audio out and I know Arseen can recommend a few since he lives in Europe.

Or get Genesis 2 RGB-scart cable that has extra RCA audio outputs.

I used to be able but those have been phased out as HDMI is now the main norm.

That does help as well, I forgot they do make some with separate RCA out.

Ah gotcha, well then pretty much try to get one that has actual switches, the cheaper ones are horrible when it comes to crosstalk and video quality.

the cheap ones I have don't affect the picture quality at all.

And crosstalk is eliminated by not having more than one console at once.

Wait I'm getting confused...  Are you saying these 2 cords will work for me, in the United States?  I don't recognize those cables...  Which end goes into my DVDO EDGE?
