Does it bother you that Capcom took away the slide move and Mega Buster from Mega Man in 9 and 10?

So then you would concede that the Wii "Murdered" the Playstation 3, correct?

I'm not gonna play that game with you.

You know good and well that the Wii and PS3 cater to VERY different markets. The Wii is marketed towards the elderly, children under 10, and people who think that a video game should help them get in shape.  The PS3 is for people that like video games.
You just can't defend yourself now.  I figured you wouldn't admit it.

you know what really made me mad? the fact that both these gmes were released on cartridge for the NES.

I think he meant to say "weren't".

It would have been nice if they were, as it's certainly possible give that both games are made with all of the NES's limitations in mind from sprite size to even the tile and sprite color limitations that adhere to the NES's color pallet. With Famitracker, even the music from the games can be ported to the NES directly.

The colossal job however would be to  port the C++ code of both games to 6502 assembly, although given the complexity of some Rockman 4 rom hacks, it might be fully possible to use much of the code from Megaman 4 or Megaman 6 (tied for being the biggest of the NES games in terms of ROM storage) to construct TRUE NES builds of Megaman 9 and 10.

Sadly I don't think it'll ever happen unless Capcom totally looks the other way. Still, they seem to be okay with Rokko-chan and even Rockman 7 FC and 8 FC.....so maybe someday a rom hacker will bring Megaman 9 and 10 to the Famicom and then it'll be possible to buy reproduction carts. I really, really hope so.

Just saying, but it would be nice to get some replies to the post I made a few days ago. I'd love to hear others thoughts on individual entries in the series or opinions on what I said.

sorry everyone, i looked it up. the megaman team bought cheap NES games and took out the chips, and used the casing to put a disc inside the cartridge. it only included some artwork and maybe some other colletors things. aory for causing such controversy.

You may want to do some more research yourself bud.

    Worldwide sales figures
        PlayStation – 102.49 million shipped (Japan: 21.59, US: 40.78, Europe: 40.12)
including PSone – 28.15 million shipped
Nintendo 64 – 32.93 million (Japan: 5.54 million, the Americas: 20.63 million, other: 6.75 million)

Even though some people (you and myself included) happened to enjoy the N64 more it does not mean that is was a more successful console. Not by a long shot. Sony has been mopping the floor with Nintendo up until this last generation where the sides flipped.

even though it sold more, doesnt mean it did as good as nintendo. the reason why there were sooo many ps consoles sold wast because of piracy! i live in mexico, and back in the day, i never eeever saw an original PS cd, untill today that i bacame a collector. back then i didnt own a ps1, but every single person i knew had at least 20 to 30 pirate games and not a single original one. sure in the US piracy is not that common, but paying 250 bucks for an immense amount of good games or buying an n64 and a lot of original expensive games, kids and parents decided to go to the cheaper option

Shenske, please read ALL my previous posts!  I NEVER said the N64 was more successful...  It was not a blunder, it was not the Saturn, Dreamcast, Jaguar, or some other piece of garbage.  To say so is crazy!  Ocarina of time is like one of the best games of all time.

I did ... i read every post on this forum.
I was referring to the part when you wrote this:
............ but to say the N64 was murdered is beyond exaggeration. .....................

I was informing you that yes it was in fact murdered in a mudslide where its opposition sold 3x more units.  I was going into exact details on a point that wiggy stated.

Piracy or not, sales are sales.  Its not like the systems were just given away.  I'm not arguing anything about the software being pirated.  Every unit sold counts in ........ CONSOLE WARS !!!    :D

@ Everyone
To be honest who really cares?  If you enjoyed the games you played on that system, great. If you enjoyed the other guys a bit more and so did some more people, good for you too.

Um, if it sold more, then it did indeed "do better". That's not very debatable. I don't think sales in Mexico made up the 60 million plus difference in sales.

Mariocaseman, I feel like you have a weird hatred toward Playstation, that facts or thousands of great games will never be able to crack.

Couldn't be more wrong.  I love my PSOne, PS2 is so-so and PS3 blows (strictly my opinion).  I'll always love Sony as I do SEGA.

And just so everyone knows, I do not hate Wiggy.  I actually love him!  He has a lot of great ideas, like with the shells for the consoles, and he has made what appear to be gorgeous white N64 covers....  I actually wish they would host those here.

I feel the same way about Nintendo I suppose.

Nes - was great. Snes - was great. N64 - had a small handful of good games but mostly fell off a cliff. Gamecube - see N64. Wii - see N64.

Shenske already outlined the Wii/PS3 sales figures and they don't illustrate the margins that the PS1 sold over the N64. Nothing to "defend". Seriously, you're trying to picks fight about nothing.

If you've got to have your way, like a child, then fine. Here you go.

The PS1 did NOT murder the N64 with regards to sales figures. It simply sold more than 3 times as many units over its lifetime.

Does that resolve the matter so we can move on?

Also, I don't hate anyone on this forum. Well, there is one fellow that I really don't care for, but other than that, nobody here is hate-able. I'm always down for debate.

I realized how bad the N64 did against the PSOne just a few years ago!
I, being a Nintendo fan-from-hell since 1990-1991, don't really care now that I owe a decent selection of both platforms, but Sony made a great debut.

I love my N64, no doubt.  There are some really, REALLY great games for the system.  Some of the best that Nintendo ever made IMO.  The 3rd party support was the big issue.  Just not very much of it :(
