I can't buy them at the moment because I'll be moving soon. At $200 for 100 I'm not too interested. I'd need it be less. Which is why I'm trying to work this all out. Anyway if it costs $115 postage for 100, that'd be $157, I'm not entirely sure where your other costs came from, only the postage to you which is why I'm trying to avoid the middle man.

The extra cash is to get them to Wig before he sends them on. Trust me, I went through all this last year. You will not find a cheaper option.

If your not interested I know a few dudes who would happily put in for a 2-5 case order. Of course that depends on how many boxes Wig wants to deal with.

I don't mind dealing with a few boxes as long as you can toss in enough for me to buy a 6-pack to sip on while I pack 'em up for ya' ;)

Like Azarkhel said, good luck finding 'em for less.  Also, if you did go in on a few cases with he and I, then the shipping would be even less because the 3 (or more) of us would evenly split the initial shipping costs to me.  You just pay 1 part for every case you buy.  I.e. If I buy 2, Azarkhel buys 3, and you buy 1, then I pay 2/6, he pays 1/2, and you pay 1/6 of the initial shipping cost to me.

Also, you DO NOT want Media Shelving to ship them to you direct.  They come in EXTREMELY flimsy boxes.  I had 25 throw-away cases in my last batch of 3 cases from which I sent 100 to Australia.  And, because I'm such a nice guy, I didn't send a single one of them to Azarkhel.  I opened every case, pulled only the cleanest of the bunch, and put them in a fresh, new, far more rugged box with corner reinforcement to help insure that he got as many good cases as possible after a trans continental then trans-oceanic, then transcontinental voyage.  I think he said only like 2 or 3 were cracked in transit, which is pretty awesome considering how far they had to go.

Trust me, you WANT a middle man in this case.  This is the result without one.

So I'm not the only one thinking that those cardboard boxes the UGCs come packed in is a joke after all.
2 + 3 = 23

Dude, those are the shittiest boxes I've EVER had something delivered in.  Of the 3 cases that I ordered last time, one didn't even make it intact.  I remember looking at tracking and feeling confused when all of a sudden one of them was scheduled to arrive a day later than the other 2.  The last case of UGCs came in a different box that FedEx obviously had to use because the original literally fell apart (pieces of it were in the new FedEx box. Looked like torn toilet paper).  That's where almost all of the busted cases came from, obviously.

Coincidentally, I used that very same FedEx box to ship the UGCs to Azarkhel ;)  It was a really nice box.  Go FedEx!

I agree whole-heartedly about the quality of the boxes that they ship the UGC's in.

I emailed them (media shelving) suggesting in the future they maybe use a better quality box, or have better packing inside.  I'm sure they're not interested in pony-ing up any extra cash to invest in better shipping boxes. :(

But I too, in my 3 purchases from them, have never had a shipment arrive damage free.  Each time, usually 5-10 % of the cases are cracked an broken.  Granted, some are still usable, as a corner or two are simply chipped off the UGC, but that's not the point.

You'd hope Media Shelving gets the message and does something about this.  I thought it might have just been my problem as I'm located in Canada, and they're coming up from California (I believe).

They use singlewall boxes with no packing material so there's virtually nothing between the cases and the environment.  Considering these boxes are large they're going to get treated more harshly than small parcels by the freight company so it's understandable why some get damaged.  They need to use some styrofoam sheets (and preferably doublewall boxes) to absorb the impact from handling.  The question is whether it's worth it to them to have this extra expense instead of just having a handful of them arrive damaged, when they only cost about $.50 each (after shipping).

It sucks because shipping is pretty much the same price as the cases themselves, and you can't just get a few from them to replace the broken ones.  I emailed them after that last batch and they offered me a credit for the broken cases, which ended up being like 4 bucks.  I'd rather that they just ship me 30 free cases, but that won't happen since splitting up a box doesn't seem possible for them.

Those boxes have the feel and consistency of toilet paper, seriously.

2 reasons, 1:Simplicity ,They are never in stock even when there site says they are, "at least" 2-3 months wait before shipping, 2: No broken ones!

(these cases are piss weak and dont handle travel well, i got lucky with mine but heaps of horror stories even when just posted in the states.)

tone tells me your minds made up, good luck with your import. look forward to seeing your completion pic's in 6 months  :P

I got my last case via a helpful forum member here in 3 weeks with 4 or 5 cases smashed. Good luck with your eBay gouging.

Wig let me know when you want this to happen, a few mates and I are in for 4 cases.

Ease up with the harsh words lads, if the guy wants to sell his on eBay that's his choice. It all falls under my "How can I get UGCs here?" question. So far the cheapest method is Wiggy at $2 (USD?) a case right?
