Unless you have a monitor that allow you to change the screen's positioning and size to an extreme level.

I play all my old consoles through an expensive upscaler so I do have that option. I was just hoping for a natural way.

Or, going totally into a different direction, if you have a Gamecube with a Gameboy Advance player attachment, get yourself "Mario Kart: Super Circuit" where you can unlock classic "Super Mario Kart" tracks. Worth a try. :D

If you want to play 1 player using the bottom half (and having the top part as a proper rear view mirror), hold L and R on controller 2 and start a game using controller 2.
