Games you absolutely refuse to own

also anything for 80's computers, C64, Spectrum etc, just not worth owning IMHO.

I feel the same, minus Atari 2600, and I might get a Cheep Colecovition soon.

Well with any of them, I would buy them if they are cheep at a tag sale or whatever, but I would not actively seek them out online, or buy many games for them. I probably would not play them that much, I do not find many of the games that interesting.

I should qualify this. I have games that I haven't played in years or even at all yet, but I at least plan to get to them. There are a couple perhaps that go against this rule (like maybe Final Fantasy 1 & II) that I own, but am not sure when if ever I will play them. I do like to have complete sets of things.
So I guess this isn't a hard and fast rule. I'll also keep games that I loved and I've beaten but likely won't touch again. Those are for my (future) kids :D

I've prolly got 100+ games that I've never played or at least never played for any significant chunk of time (I'm talking like 10 minutes or less). It's not because I bought them with no intention of playing, but when I worked new/used game retail, I picked up a LOT of games in a really short period of time. And a lot of them were grabbed during the PS1 RPG explosion, so getting to all of them would have been really time consuming, as you can prolly imagine. I don't know if I'll ever get to them at this point, and I'm not really that worried about it. These days I collect far more than I play. Playing for me has morphed into customizing EVERYTHING in the collection in some way, shape, or form.
Even so, I still only buy games that I plan on playing or at least would play. I don't collect just for the sake of collecting. I don't purchase high dollar rare items just because they're rare. I don't try and fill my collection with filler just to have more crap on my shelves. The only system that I want to have a complete collection for is the 64DD, and that's just because there are only 9 games for the system and I'm only down 2 (which will likely cost me around 700-800 to pick up at some point :( ).
I had a policy of NEVER purchasing sports games, but, as I get older, I find that Golf and Bowling games are great fun. Also, FPS titles. But, again, I have friends that insist on playing nothing but and before I knew it I was occasionally playing COD:MW2 a couple of years back on weekends with them (local split screen only, I don't play ANYTHING online). So, save for games that I've played/owned and hated, I try not to predict that I will never buy a game that comes to market without ever having touched it.
Well, I could possibly make an exception to that rule for Mary Kate, Dora the Explorer, Miley Cyrus, and Barbie games :P
