  • It's dangerous to go alone...
Does the manual contact the cartridge itself and the combination is just too thick? Or does it come in contact with the ridges that hold the cartridge in place and that pushes out the front side? Or is it just the dimensions (i.e. too tall, wide)?

I've read a lot of posts about them not fitting, but I can't figure out why without holding one, and I'd like to know if it's somehow fixable..
I'm looking for vol. 2, 4, and 5 of the Orchestral Game Music Concert CDs. I'll pay well if it's authentic and doesn't skip. :)

To my knowledge too wide, it fits in but bends.

One "fix" is to store the manual under the sleeve and cover

Ah okay, so it is a dimensional thing. I'm pretty much set on putting manuals inside the case itself so I guess UGCs are out for sure...

Yeah either DVD cases, or you can sore the manuals plastic pockets in a folder like I store my NES manuals.

I dunno how often I said this already but manuals do fit. *sigh* The bend is pretty much neglectable.

This.

They are not always a perfect fit -- games with thick manuals will make the case bulge a little bit, and the manual gets a very slight bend (nothing near a crease or anything that is in any way damaging) -- but for the most part, I think they fit just fine. All my manuals are stored with their games in the UGCs.

Yes, I've done the searches, but that's not the question I asked.

Let me try to be clearer. What exactly comes into contact with the back of the manual? Is it the cartridge itself, or the plastic ridges?

If it's the cartridge itself that touches the manual, then there's nothing to be done, but if it's the plastic ridges in the case, then those can be sanded down to allow more room for the manual. See what I'm trying to get at here?

I've never held a UGC so I need to figure this out before I go dropping cash on large orders.

The manuals are too tall so they catch the edge of the case as they are set in a bit from the far edge on the outside of the case (the cart bit is fine mostly). This is how they fit nicely in the cover sleeve which is how I keep them as they are kept very flat this way, although some euro manuals are massively thick and look extremely bulged due to them being multi-language.

There is a picture (located below)

The manual does not "fit" inside the case when it is closed.  It is '-' too long to fit =X.  You can get it to fit inside the case if you bend the manual into a |C|, but its bending the manual.  You can see in the picture it's just long enough to be a problem.

If it is hollowed out, I do believe it will fit, but now the game is loose.  So the best bet is to place the manuals on the back inside the sleeve

:p

But that post finally shows how the manual fits in the case.

If someone asks this after this in this topic then your picturee is warranted.

No not!

Because it doesn't matter how the manual "fits" in the upper part of the UGC it is important that it DOES fit in the lower part of the case and the nudge on the upper part bends it down a bit when closing.

STILL it DOES fit in the part of the case were you put the manual, the lower part were also the cart lies in!

OK, reading that and watching that image of UGC little closer I now undestand what you mean.

BTW: How thick manual can you fit bettween the cart and and the lid?

First of all I had not watched your signature that closely, but that's awesome driving!

And like I said watching the image of the UGC, I can see how it closes, which tells me that the space above the cart is two widths of the lids ridges taller than the space between the ridges if the lid, so the manual fit on top of it, and is sandwiched betwwen the cart and the lids ridges when the case is closed.
