Sony dropped the ball on the PS3 -- way overpriced at release (still is in my opinion), then took out the backwards compatibility, then changed the price, then slimmed it down, then made new GB sizes, then the PSN crash that lasted a month....  All that aside the games for it suck and fewer PS3 consoles have been sold this generation, leaving it beat by both Wii and 360.

Oh don't get me wrong, Sony has been disappointing for a while. I've got a launch 60GB PS3 with CFW 3.55, never go online, and use it to play PS1 and PS2 games. I'm not much into the current generation. But PS1 and PS2 were legendary systems. N64 had some good games, but the controller was retarded. Gamecube, no games. Wii, motion controls (the controls actually regressed...less buttons and they expect you to shake the stupid thing where you could have just pressed X or Y). GBC, portable NES. GBA, portable SNES with less but less buttons (and a terrible design, even the SP). DS, portable SNES with 2 screens. 3DS, portable N64 without a C stick. Are we sensing a pattern here?

The same could be said about PSP and Vita being portable PS1 and PS2s. Just because they have similar capabilities, doesn't mean they are just portable versions of those systems. They do have some ports, but there are A LOT more original games, many of which you couldn't find on the consoles. Also the DS was more comparable to the N64, hence why a launch title was Super Mario 64 DS - the N64 game with changes and enhancements, including graphically. Yet a lot of the stand-out DS games weren't N64-quality. Graphical capabilities aren't what makes a system good.

To each his own, I guess... :-\

On-topic, I see there are some differences, including a better viewing angle on the XL. http://gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&id=180086

Give me a Zelda edition 3DS XL Ninty! They've been doing that with just about every handheld they've produced lately, so my hopes are high!
