Like I said I usually don't remove the tabs as they won't damage the manual that easily.
I only remove them if the manual is thick, which US manuals never are, onlöy multi language European ones are.
Then I just rip the them out.
It's the cleanest and easiest way.
I don't mind the hole as it won't show when I close the case.
I have thought about it though:
You could always cut clean circle hole out and and plug the hole with matching piece of plastic that you attach from the backside (the space between the sleeve and the case) with like sticker with strong glue.
Lotta work but the result would look extremely good.
And cases usually have a ridge that is bit bigger than the CD also in the case.
Impossible to remove, except by cutting huge hole.
So let the tabs be, it will save your nerves and time, in that order!
