Should PURCHASED digital games count in your collection?
(Steam, PSN, XBLA etc....)

Digital copies of games do have their perks for some people but its definitely not a preferred my method of 'owning' a game.  I have been struggling for a while with the idea. I am a game collector but a digital copy of a game doesn't really feel like owning a game.  It feels like a false promise of ownership of a game.

I mainly ask this since i keep my backloggery pretty up to date so i can categorize my collection.  It kind of feels like I have a cheated bloated number to my collection when i include digital downloads.

What do you guys think? Count 'em or don't count 'em?

AO007:

Well 99% of my digital games are "back-ups" of games I own physically, so they already count in some form. Do I count the other 1%? Hell no.

ShoothimNow:

I count them as even though they are not a physical game, they are still a game that I own non-the-less

I think you should rephrase your question to "Should Bought Digital Games Count In Your Collection?".  I think a majority of people might be thinking **cough cough** emulators **cough cough**.  I pay some good money for legit games (physical and digital) and they deserve to be counted in my collection.

larryinc64:

I do tend to overlook my digital Wii and PC downloads, But you did buy them and they are games.

VideoGamerYoshi:

I count them. I'd much rather own a physical copy of my PC games, but those sales... they get me every time.
