Yep, but closer look reveals one major flaw that is easy to fix: The joining of the spine and back has ugly fold.
Just remove that, and those are usable.

To make them site worthy they need to be completely be redone, rewritten and cleaned.
Our site's current stantards are very strict and almost none of the GB covers posted would make it nowadays.

Anyway welcome to the site and keep practising.

And yes this is correct topic to post your ready covers.

Alright, thanks for the replies! I'll definitely remove that fold, I see it now that you mention it. For the retyping, I should just remove all the text and retype it?

Edit: Or do you mean that I should sample that green, fill the back with it, and then recreate it with cleaner text and all that?

I'd go with the second choice, but I'd wait for Arseen's answer.

This is what I meant.

Alright, so I scrapped the entire back and replaced the color. Then I retyped all the stuff (in Times New Roman, is there a standard font I should use?) and arranged it to look like the retail box. Does this look any better?

Sure does.

One more thing that you could have fioxed easily was to wipe the spine clean too and use the logo you used on the back resized on the spine.
Now the spine logo still shows the artefacts that you cleaned from the back and part of the spine. ;)

Good work. 8)

Alrighty, fixed the spine and changed to Arial. I like that one better - it looks more like a game and less like a book report haha. So would a cover like this be site worthy? Hopefully my next ones will be much more efficient!

Now if I were to upload this to the site (I jumped the gun a few days ago with my crappy ones), would I just submit it under the closest name for that system?

Getting closer. :)

Dirt spots here and there.
Original front bit bad quality.

Back and spine are siteworthy but the front still needs quite some work.

Dirt spots everywhere and the bottom is creased.
2 + 3 = 23

Just like the last few covers I posted in various threads, this one isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination - but it was one I needed in a hurry and can't really wait for any of the good artists to create this because it sits on my shelf naked  :). So if you are someone like me, it's in my box.net account for the taking...

Edit: FYI - this scan was not from me, I pulled it from the raw scans section of this site - so all the credit in the world to them.

The great Pokemon covers being made go me wanting to revisit my old Pocket Monster covers too. The old ones I made used the retail scans (mostly) so this time around i thought i'd try out some custom versions. I've only made one cover so far to see how receptive everyone is to it and to get some opinions.  I wanted to still use the original text from the box but reformat it to look like more modern day Pokemon covers.

Pokemon Red

Also, giving you guys a heads up this cover's spine should match up next to the DS pokemon covers. I really wanted the pokemon games to line up nicely without the need to completely recreate the DS versions as well.

As always, tell me what you think!  ;D

I'd thought I bump this since I really love the style and work that went into "modernizing" the classic Pokemon GameBoy games. I'd really love to see shenske or someone redo Pokemon Gold, Silver & Crystal like this, since those covers are abit bland, abit low res and outdated  :)
