I was just wondering, why do people make GBC covers for GBC games? The games won't fit in the DS cases, so why bother?

they fit with some modding to the case.

basically it requires you to cut out a chunk of the case and they fit upside down.

check this out, it should help

The thread on that site seems to no longer be in existance, at least through that link. Search also turned up tons of unrelated hits for their forums. Argg.

The link you provided requires registering with another site, maybe there should be a guide on this one since it is the focus? I see many topics created asking for this and none of them can point to a guide here, maybe it would help end the question.

short answer: you can mod the DS cases to fit a lot of things they wern't orignally intended to case: Gameboy carts, Gameboy Color carts, GameGear carts or those oddly shaped GBA games like Drill Dozer and Batokai.

I agree with Wyatt. Someone should put up a guide on how to modify your DS case to fit those various cartridges.

ok, i know i said i would do this tomorrow, but i got bored...

so here is how the ds cases look when you get them, unmodded.

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x192/Ragnarok2103/normal2.jpg

and here is what you have to do to them

i use an exacto knife, but you can use a dremel tool as well.  be careful of course when using either.  Just cut the extra pieces out, and the gameboy regular or color will fit between the remaining tabs that held the advance game.  their is a video on here somewhere about how to cut out the plastic strip on the other side where the manuals go

here is what it looks like after the cutting

and here it is, complete with game inside and instruction manual

hope this helps, if you need any clarification, just let me know

My 1-year old video about how no modding is necessary for GB[C?] games as long as you don't care about it bulging/the cartridge coming flying out if you don't open it right.

You could probably smash a game doing that.  :-\
