@noemann:
I'll try to fit it in my agenda the coming months. Fixing and modding SNES and N64 consoles and controllers seems to swallow my sparetime these days though. Magic Sword is in one of those plastic rental boxes, so don't know if that's of any use.

I tried to download the PAL Joe & Mac SNES cover but I get an error: http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=9794
Can that be fixed, or can I get it somewhere else?

I really like this thread because I can see how many more covers without horizontal version. I'll try to make some, will other members help me too?

They already do. :P
Verticals are made more often because they are easier to do.

I totally understand. I’ve just realized most of my friends are fans of the horizontal because it looks more original and not as custom. I am creating few now, once I have it done, I will upload it. Thanks.

I don't know how the scan procedure works (yet), but I have the following (boxed) games:
Addams Family, The (PAL)
FIFA International Soccer (PAL)
International Superstar Soccer Deluxe (PAL)
Lost Vikings 2, The (PAL)
Magic Sword (NTSC)
Rival Turf! (PAL)
Samurai Shodown (NTSC)
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (PAL & NTSC)
T2: The Arcade Game (PAL)
WWF Raw (PAL)

Actually I was looking for a cover for Syndicate. That still hasn't surfaced?

did you scan these boxes yet? I'd like to have all of the scans that you've mentioned. Thanks.

Ok, I made a complete list of my (original) boxed SNES collection. If you could give a priority, then I will try to scan them the following period.
The list:
Contra III The Alien Wars (NTSC-U)
Final Fantsy III (NTSC-U)
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (NTSC-U)
Mortal Kombat II (NTSC-U)
Samurai Showdown (NTSC-U)
Yoshi's Safari (PAL-ESP)
Terminator 2 the arcade game (PAL-EU)
The Lord of the Rings (PAL-EU)
FIFA International Soccer (PAL-FR)
International Superstar Soccer (PAL-EU)
NBA JAM (PAL-EU)
Saturday Night Slammasters (PAL-ESP)
WWF Raw (PAL-EU)
Addams Family Values (PAL-DE)
Donkey Kong Country (PAL-HOL)
Donkey Kong Country 2 (PAL-HOL)
Donkey Kong Country 3 (PAL-HOL)
Equinox (PAL-HOL)
Illusion of Time (PAL-HOL)
Rival Turf! (PAL-HOL)
Secret of Mana (PAL-HOL)
Sim City (PAL-HOL)
Super Mario All Stars (PAL-HOL)
Super Mario Kart (PAL-HOL)
Super Street Fighter II (PAL-HOL)
Super Street Fighter II (NTSC/U)
Street Fighter Alpha II (PAL-HOL)
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past (PAL-HOL)

So ESP will only have Spain languae, HOL Dutch and French (some cases English and French), DE only German and EU English/German/French/Dutch

Are scans of rental boxes (where the original box was cut up) of any use? Then I have a few more.

Awesome! I have been busy scanning my boxes and manuals in my free time. I just noticed your post.
I've made a priority list for you:

Legend of the Mystical Ninja (NTSC-U)
Rival Turf! (PAL-HOL)
Samurai Showdown (NTSC-U)
Addams Family Values (PAL-DE)
The Lord of the Rings (PAL-EU)
Donkey Kong Country (PAL-HOL)
Donkey Kong Country 2 (PAL-HOL)
Donkey Kong Country 3 (PAL-HOL)
WWF Raw (PAL-EU)
Mortal Kombat II (NTSC-U)
Super Mario All Stars (PAL-HOL)
Super Mario Kart (PAL-HOL)
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past (PAL-HOL)
FIFA International Soccer (PAL-FR)
International Superstar Soccer (PAL-EU)
NBA JAM (PAL-EU)

I love that you have Dutch boxes. If you have time and don't mind scanning the boxes:
Equinox (PAL-HOL)
Illusion of Time (PAL-HOL)
Secret of Mana (PAL-HOL)
Sim City (PAL-HOL)
Super Street Fighter II (PAL-HOL)
Street Fighter Alpha II (PAL-HOL)
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past (PAL-HOL)

Dutch language was the first language that I studied on my own. I'd like to have these scans.

Let me know if you need scans of my boxes. I'll be happy to scan for you if I haven't already scanned.
Remember to check my scan thread: NOEmann's Raw Scans.
I'll be buying more stuff this month and in the months/years to come.

"Are scans of rental boxes (where the original box was cut up) of any use? Then I have a few more."
yes. If you don't mind scanning the rental boxes too.

Thank You very much  ;D

Ok, for rental/alternative boxes I also have:
Pro Action Replay
Pro Action Replay MK3
Ys III (NTSC-U)
The Lost Vikings II (PAL-EU)
Magic Sword (NTSC-U)

I've also added Super Street Fighter II NTSC-U to the previous list. It was in my 'to sell' box  ;)  (just like Magic Sword btw)
I think I'll park Mystical Ninja for a bit, since the box is really mint  O_O   I'll 'practice´with scanning some other boxes first   ^^

Funny you have learned Dutch!  XD  (as a sidenote, we did really well at the Songfesitval last night, that has been ages!)

Dutch is closest to English (after Frisian) so i started with Dutch. I really like the Dutch language. Besides, we have Santa Claus because of the Dutch. Very rich history in Netherlands. Dutch is one of my favorite languages (after Greek, Hindi and German.) Netherlands did well at Eurovision. Speaking of Dutch music, Charlene (de Lange) is one of my favorite artists. I like her music very much.

i always carefully flatten the box, then place a book on top of the flattened box for at least 12 hours. I've never damaged a box or manual when scanning. Manuals are tricky because the staples can become loose. I am careful to avoid overbending/flattening.

Thank You for scanning the boxes. I appreciate your time/effort.
I just purchased five SNES CIBs which i will be scanning sometime after they arrive.

Charlene? Is that her international name or something? We just call her Ilse de Lange  ;)

I don't know how the scan procedure works (yet),

Flatten the box absolutely flat.
Put the box on the scanner bed absolutely straight.
Put heavy hardcover book on the box, it should be bigger than the box but smaller than the scanner bed.
add some extra weight.
Scan 600DPI, moire removal on.
Upload to Mediafire or Box.
Post link to the image on the boards.

Before scanning all your boxes, scan one and post the link here so we can tell you if something needs to be done so the scans will be perfect.
I have some scan enhancement options, do I select them or not? (stuff like color correction, adaptive lighting, enhance sharpness, remove dust and dirt; if I translated that somewhat correctly from Dutch)

"I have some scan enhancement options, do I select them or not? (stuff like color correction, adaptive lighting, enhance sharpness, remove dust and dirt; if I translated that somewhat correctly from Dutch)"

i never use those options.
I only set the dpi to 600, color depth to 24 bit, enable  Descreening (Rasterung) but be sure to disable unsharp mask options.
i avoid all other settings like remove dust/dirt option, color correction, etc.

descreening option is sometimes hidden under advanced options/advanced configuration.

I've just finished Rocky and Bullwinkle in horizontal version. How can I upload it to the site now? Do I need to get approval first?
