Right........so here we go!

As I have said before, my workload (in the real world) is increasing exponentially and is only going to get worse for the next few months (until late June) so with that, and the added learning curve of making them to a higher standard, I shall be taking a break for a bit on these (although I will still post SFC covers from time to time).

Best case scenario they will take me a lot longer than before, so I am not saying Im out all together but just that I need to slow down quite a bit with these requests.

That said, if the cover I am about to post as my new and improved, clone stamping the crap out of every image, replacing every logo, replacing all game capture images and the usual meticulous colour replacement and cleaning of all text and solid coloured elements.........if THIS doesnt meet the admin standards for site inclusion, then I really cannot put more effort or care into these than I have with this one.

So, admin guys, please have a look at it and let me know what you think, many thanks again for all your feedback and I really hope my improved method and work meets your standards.

F************CK!!!!!  :'(

I knew there would be something...........in all honesty, whilst I was replacing the screen shots (for the first time, never done that before) I glanced at the text below them and it didnt even register that they would HAVE to match that that text.

Obviously, how the hell am I supposed to find screen shots that both meet the desired upgrade in quality the admins want whilst being the EXACT ones I am replacing??? should I import the game, play it all the way through and take HD photos of me re-creating the same scenarios depicted in the original images?

Im not doing it now but I will try and fine more appropriate images tomorrow and re-upload it............

That game is extremely difficult. Most people never beat the first dinosaur level, so screen shots of other areas of the game don't really exist.
The easiest way to get the shots would be to play the rom and use cheats to get you through it. (Angry Video Game Nerd has a great episode about this game)

Ive seen the AVGN episode yeah...........which is why I would never even dream of playing this turd.

Are you serious though? is that the way these things are done?........LOL! I gotta say man, if thats the case, then I wont be able to make these for you guys any more.......as making covers for games I do not, and never will own or want covers for in this style is one thing but actually having to play the thing to get the EXACTLY right screen shots is a whole other level of detail I have no interest in attaining Im afraid.

If I were making this cover I would just get rid of the description and try to make the screen shots seem as varied as possible. Or I would use the ones from the original scans.

I found infinite lives and invincability game genie codes, but I would need a level select code to play this POS.

Cheers B.

But here it is the new one, the screen captures are now aligned with the text......although not the EXACT image, they depict the exact same game scenario so correlate with the text underneath.

And no, I did not play this piece of crap (wasnt it JonTron that did the hilarious review of it? maybe both but if you havent seen JonTron's it and he is much funnier than AVGN in my opinion)........I screen capped a HD playthrough on Youtube.

So I will take down the other links (6 people have already downloaded it! so sorry to them for having un-related game captures) and here is the new one for admin inspection =

For me recapturing the screenshots isn't a requirement for an upload but cleaning sharping and coloring them is.

Ok, well, I just assumed that recapturing them would be better in terms of quality.........and I suppose speaks of my Photoshop proficiency issues as that was a hell of a lot easier than sitting here sharpening and colouring every detail.

So........thoughts Tik? is this the kind of standard you want?

Just to be pre-emptive here......I did go over the bricks on the front cover looking for scratches, dirt, creases (and there were some quite significant creases through Tim Allen's hair, face, hand, his tool and clothes, which I think I did a good job on) and cleaned up all that I deemed as being that.

For me, anything else is representing of the messy nature of bricks.  ;)

Hey, if you guys are gonna be sticklers in checking them........I will be a stickler in justifying why I left something you might deem as being an imperfections.

The problem with replacing the screenshots is sometimes the shots used are from a prototype build and are not in the final version.

Ok........but if the screen shots dont actually display any evidence that they are from a prototype of the game, does that matter?

Can I just ask, is this cover going to (once it has been checked properly) come back as rejected because the screen caps are not the exact original ones? although very close............because obviously there is no real point waiting to have it it checked is there, and I might as well remove the shots I have just added in to cover the original ones, and set about tidying up those instead.

What was it Spiden said a page or so ago about the process of submitting covers.........excruciating?..........yeah.............its no wonder there are hardly any artists doing it and how Banisher was so delighted, enthusiastic and thankful to get me on board! lol.

No.  Replaced screenshots won't get it rejected.  They may get it labelled as custom rather than retail, but not rejected.

People do come here for the quality, and then whine about the strict guidelines.  It's really not 'excruciating' - it's just a bit time consuming.  It would be fantastic to have more artists producing site quality stuff on a regular basis, but it would also be fantastic to NOT hear the complaints about the approval process.

Food for thought. We've had hundreds of 'artists' throw hissy fits about it over the last few years, but how many of them have started up their own, better site?
