ok - am on the verge of finally giving in and buying a lynx - i need to know is there a preference of lynx 2 over lynx 1 - and also, the 3 games that are top of my list are: Paperboy, APB and 720 - any comments on those?

You people are crazy. If there was some way to play the games of systems past for free, one of the last systems on my list would be the Lynx. I know of no games on it that are not better on other systems.

Thirded. I have yet to play anything on an emulator that was as enjoyable as playing it on the original hardware. And owning the hardware is the cherry on top of the cake. :)

@sheep - Paperboy is a nice version and its all there minus the sampled speech. APB is one i dont have this time around (dont ask) but when i owned a copy before, i felt it was one of the best games on the system, especially if you liked the arcade version. Never tried 720 but i would think it was up there with the other home versions Atari converted. Dunno if you liked Xybots but the lynx version is excellent. Best thing is that Lynx games are pretty cheap and easy to get at the moment, apart from the odd rarity and its technically streets ahead of
its rivals from the time. (Gameboy and later, Game Gear)

I wasnt sure how to move this post so i just quoted it and am reposting it.  The "Atari Lynx cover thread" is much more appropriate for Atari Lynx covers than the "Universal Nintendo Handhelds cover thread" ;)

Covers made by Michael

Thanks.  I just got a order of about 10 boxed games in so I'll be working on getting those scanned and templated in the next month or two.

If anyone has any other scans, I'd be happy to try to work on them.  I'm hopeful to get a full set done within the next year.

Gonna follow this thread as only 2 of the games I own had covers in the Lynx section and them just laying on a shelf is sad looking. Hopefully the ones I need pop up.

That would be excellent. Please share when you have the complete! I'm going to look for some more boxes while I'm back at my parent's place this Christmas.

It looks like at the moment, the following games I'll have boxes for to scan.  Unfortunately, I won't have time to set everything up to scan until the end of Feb. (moving + bar exam).

If there are scans/box covers already on this list, please let me know so I don't waste my time re-inventing the wheel:

APB
Basketbrawl
BattleWheels
European Soccer
Hockey
Jimmy Conner's Tennis
Kung Food
Malibu Beach Volleyball
Ninja Gaiden III
Pinball Jam
Robotron 2084
Tournament Cyberball
Viking Child
Xybots

That's a good 14 we can add to the ones already out there.  So far I've found 29 covers already made up on this site.  If there are others I haven't found yet, let me know.  Like I said, after February, my main project is to get covers for all 72 of the original retail games.

Have you found the ones in my box.net?

Scans for the above would be greatly appreciated.

I have found those boxes.  Thanks.  I've also been able to get my hands on the following boxes that I will scan at the end of February.

Pacland
Battlezone 2000
Super Asteroids/Missile Command
Double Dragon
Super Off Road

While I was able to get Super Off Road's box and manual, I still don't have the cart.  Right now that is literally the only thing I'm missing to complete my retail "curved' cart set.  If you know anyone willing to sell one, let me know!

Between what I have and what is available already that I've found, there are only about 8 or 9 boxes that won't have hi-res scans ready to make covers for.
