The price on these finally dropped low enough, that I decided to snatch one up. I paid for a white version, that had the Gamecube compatibility, and got it home...only to realzie the console itself is the limited red scheme (the controllers are white, though). I paid $100 at my local Gamestop, plus $15 for a two-year warranty. I also got copies of "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Twilight Princess" for less than $20 each, plus 1-year warranties. That was yesterday, and "Mario" is working great! "Zelda" also works just fine, but the actual gameplay is rapidly ticking me off. I haven't even figured out what to do first yet, after the test ride with Epona. All in all, I spent about $160, and so far, it ain't bad.

I paid £33 for mine with no games or controllers, however on the way to pick it up I got flashed by a traffic camera blowing through a red light and got fined £60 and 3 points on my license, was a poor deal in the end and I barely play on it! :(

I bought my Wii new for $250 plus No More Heroes and Super Smash Brothers Brawl to round out the price to a little over $300. I bought it back in 2008 when the white version was the only color scheme available and I have wanted to upgrade to a black Wii ever since, but with the Wii U around the corner then I will stick with what I have for now.

I camped 8 hours for my Wii on launch night. Wii Sports was fun back then. There are plenty of great games for the Wii, especially if you have real-life friends.

Lol congrats on getting a Wii, was a solid system during its first few years but lately mine just collects dust. You snagged 2 of the best games on the system and would suggest galaxy 2 and skyward sword down the line.

Pretty much most of your nintendo franchises are great (except the other m lol), donkey kong country returns, smash bros brawl, even kirby's epic yarn.

Oh, and no more heroes is a guilty pleasure for sure

Enjoy dude

for me, things like endless ocean (1&2), sam & max, kororinpa, trauma centre, boom blox, mario kart, and of course Wii sports/sports resort made having a Wii worthwhile.

Boom Blox is the jam!

The only thing about Wii games that pisses me off is that about 90% feel like cell phone games. Boom Blox is a good example. Totally NOT worth 50 bucks by any stretch of the imagination IMO. The Wii is the only system that I ever played "back-ups" on while the games were still available at retail.

There are some pretty awesome games for the Wii, but it's a lot like the 'Cube and N64. Most of the AAA titles are 1st party.

Gameplay-wise, it's not bad. Not great, but not bad. The story was what destroyed it.

Sonic Colors was also extremely satisfying. This was the Sonic game that brought Sonic out of his funk. Link's Crossbow Training is loads of fun, despite how quickly you can beat it (it's not really a fully fleshed-out game).

Agreed - i have only bought a few titles at full retail price - Endless Ocean 2, Links crossbow training, Mario Kart and Tatsunoko vs Capcom spring to mind - everything else was bought either second hand, or hugely reduced.  I have also softmodded my Wii's and play all my originals from a USB Hard drive  - which is another reason i still love the Wii even though it doesn't get much play time these days.  The good thing about getting into a Wii so late in it's lifecycle is that you'll be able to pick up most of the good games at very cheap prices (apart from the Mario games which annoyingly hold their value for way too long).  I picked up Boom Blox and Boom Blocks Bash Party for less than £5 each - totally worth it.  Before i get called out about mentioning soft modding - i will not provide any info on how to do it, so don't ask - and as i stated, i only play my originals with it.

I have just bought a PSVita, and to me it's those games that don't seem worth full retail.  Too used to playing portable games for a couple of pounds on my iPad - although I only have Wipeout so far.

Good for you man, there is plenty fun to be had on this system. A boy and his blob, de Blob 1 & 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, both Kirby games, Lost in Shadow, Mad World, Metroid Prime Triology, Metroid Other M, Muramasa The Demon Blade, No More Heroes 1 & 2, Punch Out, both Wario games, both lightgun style Resident Evil games, Smash Bros, Xenoblade, Zack and Wiki, and pretty much every game that has Mario in the title is solid (ie: super paper mario and new super mario bros wii)... oh and Zelda shtuff too. I think that has a little bit of everything to love. If you need any advice on more gems let me know, if you want to play anything too I'm down to show my Wii some love again.

I'm the same with portable games. I can't pay 40-50 bucks for a PSP game. It just seems silly to me. I have like 2 PSP games. I really only ever used it as a portable SNES/NES/Genesis. That's the only thing tha it was good for IMO.

Don't know if I'll ever pick up a Vita. Maybe when they get their 1st or 2nd price drop.
