Ok clever friends I got a problem.  We just got a swimming pool installed and since I'm home alone 5 days a week I'd like to take a dip and listen to the Aquatic Ambience Song from Donkey Kong Country as I float on the water.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can play this track outside by my pool?  I cannot afford the overpriced DK JAMZ CD and I don;t think bringing my laptop outside would be a good idea as it dies very quickly.  So, how can I listen this song, on repeat, over and over again as I enjoy a peaceful swim?

Download the track and burn it on CD as music track (not MP3).

Or connect MP3 player to you stereos and play it that way.

Ok I don't know what any of that means...  First of all, what is an mp3 and where do I download the track?  Is there a website?  How much is this going to cost me?

  • Think off-center.
Well if you use pc speakers buy a bunch of these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-ft-3-5mm-cable-extender-aux-in-wire-stereo-auxiliary-aux-input-adapter-plug-/170838925579?pt=Other_MP3_Player_Accessories&hash=item27c6cb210b
to get them closer to the pool along with extension cords to extend the power to the pool side.
Then create a playlist on youtube with that same track over and over and over again. If thats the route you want to take.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3

It's a file format that computers use to store music as bits of data.

The music file itself is available for free and can be played with Windows Media Player: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?i3fkhlrc0iqhi41

  • ...and that's the bottom line
You can easily rip the music from the Youtube video and create an MP3.

You can use this program:
http://download.cnet.com/Free-YouTube-MP3-Ripper/3000-2071_4-10968898.html

Since you asked what MP3 is I suppose you don't have a CD player that supports MP3 playback. In that case you have to convert the MP3 files to audio CD format (WAV). If you use Nero or WinOnCd as your cd burning program all you have to do is to check the box "create audio cd", drag and drop the mp3 file and Nero will automatically convert the file so that after burning the CD you can play it on any CD player.

If you don't have Nero or WinOnCD just google "mp3 to audio cd". There are tons of freeware programs that you can use.

What about an iPod?  I don't own one, but can I get the track on that and have a speaker come out of it..?

Yes you can. What you would ideally need is an iPod Dockingstation like one of these

Actually, there are a few websites that will convert youtube videos into MP3s for you, so there's no need to download a program for one track. Though, Zakurowrath posted a link to the MP3, so there's no need to fuss over youtube.

An iPod is just an MP3 player. (I'm sure someone out there is greatly offended at me calling it just an MP3 player, but they should get over it)
You can find MP3 players from other brands for dirt cheap, if you want to use that. Just plug speakers into the Audio Jack instead of headphones, and you're all set.

Download it there. Seraph Man THE iPod IS NOT JUST A MP3 PLAYER it also plays the useless propitiatory file type that apple jammed down your thought from iTunes

If you get an MP3 player loaded up with what ya want can always try and turn your pool into a speaker (probably be pretty damn neat actually)

I saw this on shark tank a while back, neat how it works
