So, when can I get a Wuu Pro Controller to play Skyward Sword with?

That controller is probably the thing that I'm most excited about after having watched that vid!

99% chance they'll make you use a wiimote to control that game. With BC games you'll likely be required to use the type of controller they were designed for (except maybe games that use the classic controller).

The Wuu isn't gonna support the Cube, right?  Like not even using a Classic or Pro controller?

I didn't see any info on it either way, but I assume they're leaving the Cube behind (even though they talked about all this connectivity with older systems nonsense)

Ugh  ::)    I didn't say ANYTHING about gamecube games. Nintendo already said at last years E3 that disc-based gamecube support will be nixed.
I said "With BC games you'll likely be required to use the type of controller they were designed for (except maybe games that use the classic controller)."

Meaning if the original game game required the wii mote it is VERY UNLIKELY that nintendo will program a patch that will allow you to use the a new type of controller. Even More Simply Put: If the wii game used a wii-mote before it'll probably use a wiimote again.  Nintendo didn't reprogram a downloadable patch for gamecube games to use the wiimote (repackaged re-releases don't count), i bet they'll follow in the same vein as before.

The only thing i could see if a WII GAME used the classic controller ON THE WII, then i bet nintendo would let you use the Pro controller or the GamePad on the WII U. They would not have to add any new crazy patches or programming if they had this support.

EDIT:
Virtual Console is an entirely different conversation ....

Yeah, you can use it for stuff like that, but I can't think of any worthwhile, non-VC titles that you can use it for.
