So I've heard rumblings that Sony and Microsoft are not ready to talk about their next gen systems... What's everyone think the likelihood of that actually is? 8)

Sony and Nintendo have both been sued and given similar preliminary judgements.  I've never seen a console forced off shelves.  It doesn't benefit anyone, including Motorola.

Microsoft wasn't willing to pay what Motorola wanted for patent licenses, Motorola sues, the two meet somewhere in the middle.  Pretty typical corporate civil lawsuit crap.

So I've heard rumblings that Sony and Microsoft are not ready to talk about their next gen systems... What's everyone think the likelihood of that actually is? 8)

I believe it.  Sony has been quite adamant with regards to its 10 year life cycle for the PS3.  I'm guessing there isn't even much to show at this point.  I'm sure they're hard at work, but as this tech gets infinitely more complex, it'll take that much more time to develop and make use of.

That's a totally different story.

The market in the US is huge. Like I said, nobody would benefit from it.

I'm not saying that there's zero percent chance, but I HIGHLY doubt it will happen here.

This just shows what too strickt enforcing of IP does.
Well once this way, that microsoft is the sued one.
Next time another way around.

On side note, I've noticed that Ms is selling consoles at 15% or so discount here in Finland at the moment.
