I don't' get it.  Why are you making SwanCrystal-specific covers?

Thats how the retail box was. I'm not sure why Bandai decided to do this. I'm assuming they were trying to push sales of the SwanCrystal and better compete with the GameBoy.

I was considering making both SwanCrystal and a WonderSwanColor covers for those type of games. Perhaps i should for uniformity, wouldn't be difficult at all.  In fact i think i personally prefer having the choice between the two.

Kind of like this for an alternate

Dude, that's wacky!

I haven't noticed/seen any retail titles like that yet.  Were there a bunch of titles that ended up in that packaging?

Buuuuuut, the difference is more like the GB and GB Pocket, not GB and GBC.  The WSC and SC are the exact same thing save for a WAY nicer screen.

I agree about keeping 'em separate though.  Most folks seem to want their covers to resemble the original retail packaging.  And, if there are SwanCrystal retail boxes out there, then might as well keep 'em as such.

Bandai was very strange with how they branded their boxes, like this one being SwanCrystal AND Wonderswan Color. I also second just sticking with retail and doing whatever was on the original box.

I've got high res scans of that game, btw, in my thread in the RAW section if anyone wants to make a Vita case for it :) Rockman & Forte as well

If they're gonna brand it with the Crystal logo, then it makes sense to brand them as both.  If they didn't, then non-Crystal owners might think that the title isn't compatible with their WSC.

The change of name from Color to Crystal seems like it was a dumb idea in the 1st place.  They shoulda done something like Nintendo did with the GB/GBP.  Less confusing.

Not necessarily, since Bandai (and SNK with Neo Geo Pocket Color, and to some extent Nintendo with the GBC) was generally forward compatible with its games (color games would work in an old B&W system for the most part). Nintendo, intelligently, identified color games that would not work in an original Game Boy as such, instead of labeling a game "Game Boy Color/Game Boy" as Bandai did with SwanCrystal/WonderSwan Color.

But yes, the name change was idiotic for sure.

Wasn't sure if i should post this here or in the PS Vita Cover Thread.

GameStop got black replacement Vita cases for pre-owned games.  If you're not a fan of blue Vita cases for other projects (like this one) then there will be black cases available.  :)

I just got a few WSC games and I cannot figure out how to mod the DS cases perfectly to fit them without a bunch of foam inside of them. This looks a bit more convenient and easy, plus no cutting.

I am going to see if GameStop has he replacement cases but if they don't, I like the Blue.

I've uploaded a few more Wonderswan / Wonderswan Color games the last few days. I'll preview those individually soon, i just want to give you guys an idea of how the games look when they are all line up. (Some of these covers will not be hosted in the site due to the poor quality images used).

How about doing this as a contest along with spamming FB? I say make a post with the forum link and encourage people to choose their fave case from like the top 10 we pick.
