Night Only Games

I have this bizarre thing where certain games I can only play at night and was wondering if anyone else feels this / practices this way?  For example, Luigi's Mansion, Resident Evil and games that have any kind of scary / creepy element to them I cannot play in the morning or even while the sun is out.  I have to wait until it is at least like 9:00pm or whenever it is pitch dark outside.  It just feels weird playing them during the day, I guess because they're supposed to be scary.  Just curious if anyone else feels the same way.

Yeah, Silent Hill, there's just something unwholesome about playing it in daytime.

The original Diablo, and Deus Ex.  Both good nighttime games.

I think it's just wrong to play Metroid Prime 1 and 2 in daylight, low light and silence make the atmosphere

Definitely Dead Space!!!

One of the creepiest games I ever played. This game in total darkness is just plain diabolical.

Amnesia The Dark Decent & Penumbra come to mind, those games are perfect at night with headphones and pitch darkness, it really adds to the mood of the games.

The first F.E.A.R. and Doom 3 come to mind.

Doom 3 (& its expansion), Dead Space and the Fear series come immediately to mind.  There are other games that i think are better at night but not absolutely necessary to play at night. The James Bond and Metal Gear series come to mind.  When the game is telling a deeper story-line or there are sneaking missions I enjoy them more at night.

Going way back, the 7th Guest on PC got alot of play at night.  And of course the original Resident Evil.
