Yeah, but I made the back with blood sweat and tears. Just a little acknowledgement is nice. I try to do the same whenever I have anything similar. I dunno. Maybe I'm just being a douche. If so, then sorry.

No, I understand. It'd be good if with the 'created by', you could acknowledge another user if you've used their cover as the base. But I'm not sure how feasible it would be to set up.

I mentioned the comments box idea for submissions. They said they'd implement it in a future version of the site.

I normally give credit to whoever I need to give credit to within the legal text or somewhere on the box. It feels right to me.

I imagine some people might still get ticked off - "OMG Why'd you use my art without permission!" - but at least I wouldn't be taking credit for it myself.

Yeah, the comment box would rock. Ah well. We shall wait and see. I would mostly put comments on my own stuff like about the creation process tho. And of course all credits due.

I made both vertical & horizantal versions both in gray & black. (black not pictured ... use your imagination ;) )

This one actually took a lot longer than i had originally anticipated ... there are NO screenshots for madden 2005 on the PSX except 1 rom site. You would think that a game with this kind of popularity would have at least a few screenshots floating around. I guess the PSX was basically dead at the time and the PS2 version was better but come on.

The back info is based off of the official MGS dvd cover release. Almost all of the artwork is from the xbox version we have on the site and the legal text is from the gamecube version we have on the site.

Tell me what you think  :)

Once again I made both vertical & horizantal versions both in gray & black. (this time gray not pictured ... use your imagination  )

You know what cover sucks? ... my old version of this. Its pretty sloppy and unimaginative so i decided to make a proper version.

Good stuff, Shenske. Kinda wish I had gone with the PSone style, now.

Hmmm... That new Spyro cover looks awfully familiar... Namely the backside...

Well, from what I gather, all he did was convert the NTSC cover on the site to PAL, so yeah, the front and back should look very familiar.

When all thats changed is some legal info to "switch" it to another region i think that the original artist's name should be on the cover. When I find some time I'll switch the artist name from Alex Philip to M47R1X because i too think that is unfair. Same thing with all the new Dreamcast covers that were submitted by Raven1280, they will be switched Lumberjack42. The only thing that was changed was spine color.

Thanks for your care and interest, shenske. Maybe there should be a way to credit both at some point, ya know? Some work DOES have to go in to converting. Food for though.

I thought about this some time before adding them. Ultimately I decided to leave the people who uploaded them even though I saw that they changed only minor stuff.

On second thought leaving the original authors would have been better maybe.

We thought about that but ultimately it was decided by all admins that double names would make the artists databse to big and cluttered.

Seems like M47r1x dose that a lot..

the 3 SCD covers he submitted are actually my covers converted to slim case.

Not that I really mind, but other artists might get upset over it.

I was talking with tiktektak back and forth about some SNES covers I did for KaiserWAVE and that's when I threw those in. I told him they were conversions, but I guess I forgot to mention that in the forums. That was a long-ass time ago when I had first started all this biz (bout a month in to the whole deal) and didn't expect them to get posted as they would have had to start a whole new style of slimline DVD covers for the Sega CD, but apparently they did. It started for me as a way to get ALL of my games in one unified template that looked really good (Vt-102's slim template) and to get a good Dark Wizard cover (did that one ever get fixed?). I am glad that someone can use them (I had converted alot more for my personal collection, as no Sega CD manuals would fit in a standard DVD case anyway). Crap man, if I had known they would be posted then I would have thanked you at the proper time. But alas, late is better than never. THANK YOU for your work on the Sega CD covers and yes, all were modified. Damn, that was almost a year ago. When did those go up? I had done this with Saturn too, but I never uploaded them. A slim template instead of a standard template, but not MookyJooky's. I feel his is best for the J-Saturn games. Probably won't anytime soon.

EDIT: By the way, as far as I can remember, unless it was an SNES conversion for KaiserWAVE then I don't believe I have done any other conversions.

It is a smidge different though, as the Sega CD ones are from scans where the Spyro cover was "hand-crafted." But nonetheless, credit is due. nvm, douche statement.

EDIT 2: I went carreening through my PMs and found what I think was the conversation, but I guess our outboxes clear themselves out every now and then so I can't confirm. But it was definitely either Shenske or tiktektak. July of last year. I started in mid-June, so this was a beginner f%$^-up. As you can probably tell, this is really rattling me because here I am going off and then something that I did a long time ago bites me in the butt that I wasn't entirely aware of. And I try to be the nicest, most giving guy around, but I tend to f^&* things up alot. Not just at my own house apparently either. THANKS AGAIN Vt-102 for your awesome work on the under-appreciated Sega consoles. While I'm at it, I did some Parasite Eve covers (I did all the scans and all, don't worry, I wanted to make it "mine") for the vertical version, but I went ahead and threw out a horizontal version as well which looked a helluvalot like the one already on the site (which I believe was yours... poo). I did the work and I mentioned that bit in this thread, but still, if it passes QA it might be an issue. So if you don't hate me by now Vt-102, I'll just sit here and shut up about any of this. If you want to pull those Sega CD covers then by all means be my guest. Or (and I'm very serious about it here) change the names of those covers to Vt-102. Whoever can do that. I think it'll make everybody happy.
