Even so, I still like my covers to be vertical. That way, they stand out from my other games. I'm sorry if you guys don't like it, but you'll just have to live with it. Either like it or lump it, or something like that.

Well I'm going to say this: There's a reason people like horizontal just as there's a reason people like vertical. You don't have any more right to criticize the horizontal template than others do for criticizing the vertical.

I don't want to sound rude, but what is it with people requesting the horizontal Playstation template for said games? I mean, I have no problems with it, but it looks too much like the PS2 template, only with the 2 removed from the Playstation logo at the top.

I don't think anyone was going to try and force thier preference on anyone else, but I do find your more recent statement rather interesting given that you initiated the discussion.

??? No one has an issue with what you personally like twilightwolf77. In fact you're the one who brought up the issue to begin with and we've all just been explaining why it doesn't work as well in the vertical style due to the facts of the height and width not matching up. It was an explanantion based mainly on the facts at hand, not an affront to your personal tastes, facts in which you were proven to be wrong about after stating to Vt: "Actually, the CD case art for the PS1 games weren't horizontal, but vertical. Even you should've known that." This whole discussion has been a tangent initiated by you and your tone throughout has been defensive and bewildering.

...Maybe you should take your own advice, considering you came into the thread to say, essentially, that the horizontal template sucks.

ok guys i'll play referee here.

doesn't matter which template you like, we the cover makers, will make what they please.
Be it vertical or horizantal.  Lets please stop all talk or bashing of which is better.

The next post should not be about this argument.  If someone would like to continue their person feelings of why they like a certain version of the template please do so in a new thread.

alright so what cover is next ? ... ?  ;)

  • ...and that's the bottom line
The Shenske has spoken and that's all there is to say.

Different People have different preferences, which I think is great since it means more varied covers :). Try think about that.

Oh, and about the discussion here, i don't really mind any style, i just enjoy watching the creativity and efforts of all the members. I'm far from as good as most people here, but i like having my covers look the same and go by the same style, so i convert my game covers to fit the sleeker dvd covers

I wanted to ask before I did this: would anyone be upset if I were to convert SMMM's Mega Man Legends covers to the vertical format? I'm aware that he hasn't posted in a very long time, so I couldn't exactly ask him.

I'd of course credit him when I submit it.

Any chance someone would be willing to make some covers for Saga Frontier and Saga Frontier 2? After my latest round of printing (thanks vt!) I realized the spine quality on those 2 covers was quite poor compared to the rest of the covers I'd gotten from this site.

If nobody wants to, I can live with what I have currently but it never hurts to ask (Oh, and I'd be fine with either style)

Heh, yeah. I didn't realize until I had already uploaded one of them, and because of the internet connection being uber slow here, I just went with it anyway and keep the error consistent. =P
