You could always post in the request forum......

Or, download the template and photoshop and have a play.  Most of us are self taught.  Segamer has made some great YouTube tutorials.

I did post a request on the forums but it seems like most of the things going up these days are for PS4 and switch stuff. I am not even sure there is anyone still making stuff for PS1/Dreamcast/Sega Saturn these days, so I thought I might try my hand at it but have 0 experience. I tried using GIMP but that got me nowhere.

I have covers for most Disc based games. Let me know if you need something scanned.

I can upload a PDF template that you can work on.

I'm a graphic designer by trade and I use Adobe Photoshop and Indesign to make mine - You'll have to learn the tools.
I use the retroarch emulator on an android tablet to take screen grabs. The rest of the artwork is usually concept stuff off the net.

The problem with DVD style covers for PS1 is that very few people are using that style.  I considered it way back, but it would involve making covers for all games, including the ones that are already CIB and due to the number of PS1 games I have, it simply isn't feasible.  Also, due to the square shape of the PS1 jewel cases, it's difficult to simply copy and paste the artwork onto a rectangular shaped DVD cover.

So the amount of work needed to create the covers is greater than most styles, and the number of people using that format is much less than most other styles.  Therefore there isn't much supply to match the little demand.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

That [the fact that the source material is not the same dimensions as a jewel case and stretching is a no-no], the loss of space [as the DVD boxes are HUGE compared to a CD case], and lastly... if you have any PS1 games in CD cases... are you... converting those as well... because they just look bad next to one another...  DVD Case - CD case - CD case - CD case - DVD case - DVD case

Totally agree how dumb games will look on the shelf. However, the original PS1 PAL Jewel cases are hard to come by. DVD boxes are cheaper.
If you want to keep all your games neat on the shelf, an alternative option would be to use those thick double cd jewel cases (like Final Fantasy 8 and Metal Gear Solid). 5 of these new are more expensive than 10 new dvd boxes.

Salvation Army's have double cd cases usually for $0.49 where I am at.  Whenever one breaks, I buy some terrible audio CD and use it for parts  ;D

Just a reminder to the person that has received the last cover or postcard. Please update the thread, if you have not done so. Or, if you have not sent anything to one of the participants on the list, please do so.

Thank you

Ok, thinking this is a weird spam bot. 7 day ban just to make sure.

Here's a DVD style cover for WWF In Your House. Fun game I played as a kid and had a lot of fun making this cover.

Made a new DVD style cover for Descent. The one on the site had the vertical PlayStation logo on the front so redid it to get rid of it. I then scanned and cleaned my copy to get a better looking back.

Will take this thank you. Keep up with the PS1 creations. I have a few that I am still looking for that I asked for about 9 months ago.
