I'll try, but I'm purposely trying to be not too specific, when it comes to artistic style, because I don't want to stifle creativity.
I came up with the name Seymor Onion many years ago, when MMORPGs started becoming popular.
I used that name for my primary character in online games, and most of my family and friends used variants of that name, for their characters, whenever we played those games together.
In the early days, we used images of Green Onions in games that allowed user-created emblems/icons for a Guild.
Shortly after the release of Breath of Fire III, (for PS1) in the late 90's, we started using variants of Peco's likeness (a playable Character in Breath of Fire 3) for guild emblems.
Fast forward a couple of years, and you'll arrive at the day when some of my online friends started e-mailing me videos of Hatsune Miku.
Fast-foward yet again, this time to 2010/2011, and you'd find me, sitting at my PC, trying to come up with a Theme and Branding for my "Vintage Gaming Accessories" website.
I wanted to make sure the name I used for it would be unique.
It didn't take too long to decide to base it upon my long-time online gaming persona. XD
I went with the Miku-Inspired theme, because I'm a big fan her, as well as anime-style JRPGs, and it seemed fitting. ;D
Long story short, when it comes to Onions, I greatly prefer Green Onions and Leeks.
