Entry Deadline: Friday, June 1'st, 2012 Saturday, June 30'th, 2012
TBD, once I start to get some submissions.
 ;D

This Contest was ended on Wed, July 18'th, 2012
The winner is larryinc64.

How to Enter: Post the Logo Pictures in this thread, before the deadline.
You can make as many variations as you want, and they don't have to be in the same post.

What you'll win: The thanks and admiration of myself, and fellow members of this forum!
Oh, and $100 worth of *merchandise from my website.  ;D
Shipping will be free, so you don't have to worry about that.
Anything for sale on my website is eligible as a prize.
You can mix and match stuff so it'll add up to about $100 USD.
If you'd rather have cash, I can send you a Money Order for $50 USD.
I can subsist on Ramen alone, for only so long. XD
If you don't want a prize, please keep that info to yourself until after the contest ends,
to avoid complaints about that influencing the outcome of the contest.  :P

I'm looking for Five New Logos for my Website.
I actually just need one Logo design, but it should come in five different sizes, and still be legible.
If you need (or want) to change/tweak it's design, so it'll look nice in the other formats/sizes, that's cool.

Here are the sizes I need:
These are Max Canvas Sizes, given in pixels (With x Height).
The logo doesn't have to fill the entire area; it just can't be bigger than the sizes listed.

Website Main Title Bar: 640 x 100
I'd prefer a clear background layer (.gif format) but it's not mandatory.
Example: SeymorOnion.com
I have a temp title bar image up that's the max size that'll work.
If you take the transparent background approach, don't put a border around it, like the thin black line I used in my example.

PayPal Packing Slip Icon / Logo: 150 x 100
.gif or .png or .jpg

Shopping Cart Banner / Logo: 600 x 60
If it looks better being less that 600 pixels wide, that's fine, as I can simply do Align=Left, and it'll still look good. ;)
.gif or .png or .jpg

eBay Store Logo: 310 x 90
.gif or .png or .jpg

eBay Packing Slip Logo: 150 x 90
.gif or .png or .jpg

The logo itself should say "SeymorOnion.com".
If you'd like to add a small tag-line, it should say something to the effect of "Accessories for Vintage Games & Consoles" or the like.

While it's true that I'm also currently selling off my games & consoles, I don't plan on doing that forever. So, there's no need to mention sales of Games or Systems in the tagline. ~_^
They're being sold to help raise funds for the new stuff; ie: Game Cases & other accessories, such as Wireless Controllers, Cart & Console Shells, screws, metal shielding plates,
A/V & S-Video & RGB & Component Adapters/Converters, and so on.

As to the design of the logos themselves, that's mostly up to you all.
All that I ask is that they are family friendly, easily readable/ identifiable, and stay within the aforementioned size limits.

Anything specific that you'd like to see?  I mean, are onions in the logo a necessity or is there something else that you'd like/dislike?  Just makes it a tad easier to start something like this with some sort of direction ;)

The Y in SeymorOnion can be a leek, similar in coloring/design to the ones on the website.

I can remove the Background Leeks in the Titlebar, if needed, if someone takes the "Y is a Leek" approach, so it will give a cleaner, overall look.

I can also flip the leek icons on the site, so they'll be pointing in the same direction as the letter y in the logo, if someone chooses to use lowercase instead of capitol.
Also, if the design of the Y-letter-leek is substantially different from my existing leek icons, the icons can be changed to better match the leek in the logo.
I'm very flexible.  ;)

Alright, that helps.  I didn't know if you specifically wanted scallions/leeks, a big fat white onion, etc.

I actually had ideas for multiple logos for multiple purposes, can I submit them all together?

I'll try, but I'm purposely trying to be not too specific, when it comes to artistic style, because I don't want to stifle creativity.

I came up with the name Seymor Onion many years ago, when MMORPGs started becoming popular.
I used that name for my primary character in online games, and most of my family and friends used variants of that name, for their characters, whenever we played those games together.

In the early days, we used images of Green Onions in games that allowed user-created emblems/icons for a Guild.
Shortly after the release of Breath of Fire III, (for PS1) in the late 90's, we started using variants of Peco's likeness (a playable Character in Breath of Fire 3) for guild emblems.

Fast forward a couple of years, and you'll arrive at the day when some of my online friends started e-mailing me videos of Hatsune Miku.

Fast-foward yet again, this time to 2010/2011, and you'd find me, sitting at my PC, trying to come up with a Theme and Branding for my "Vintage Gaming Accessories" website.
I wanted to make sure the name I used for it would be unique.
It didn't take too long to decide to base it upon my long-time online gaming persona. XD

I went with the Miku-Inspired theme, because I'm a big fan her, as well as anime-style JRPGs, and it seemed fitting;D

Long story short, when it comes to Onions, I greatly prefer Green Onions and Leeks.

I have been working on some stuff. I had carpel tunnel for the last few days, and still do, and I have to rest my hand so I can't complete everything yet, but I got some things done.

BTW That onion is creeping me out a bit, so no, I would not like to see more.   ;D
