TMNT III: The Manhattan Project is the only TMNT game I cannot get through without using a continue.  According to the game's instruction manual on page 6 I will get an extra life "after every 25,000 points you score."  This clearly is not the case on my game though.  I get an extra player after the following:
50,000 points
100,000 points
200,000 points
300,000 points
400,000 points
500,000 points
and that is it, no more after 500,000.  So it appears there is a massive typo in the manual or I have messed up cartridge.  It is odd that you would get a player after 50,000 points twice, then every 100,000 points.  I was hoping you guys who have the instruction manual could check your copy to see what yours says.  Others who have the game, please pop it in and play for a little while to see when you get an extra player.

There are a LOT of old games that awarded a 1up based on points using a system like you're describing.

The typo is still a typo though.  It happened, a lot.  Hell, look at the credits for the original Legend of Zelda.  Almost everybody's name is spelled incorrectly :/

I'd still appreciate someone playing it through... even online guides claim it is every 50,000 points, if that were true I should be getting a 1up at 150,000 and I'm not.  Nor am I getting one at 250,000.  I still haven't found a review that says you're maxed out at 500,000 which I am  :'(
