i'm loving the case redesign and as of right now, count on me coughing up the dough for one.

and this is just me dreaming like a total fanboy, but if there were a way you could rig up a Genesis/SCD/32X into a decent sized case (i.e. using the internals of a CDX?), i'd cry a thousand tears of joy.

actually, on youtube a guy did just that, he put all three into a Sega Saturn Shell.

Yea its so crazy it works. Only thing he did was elevate the disc door.

I bet that would be a fairly simple mod (if he used the CDX).  That thing is so tiny, you could fit like 4 of them in a Saturn LOL!

Wow, that's pretty intense.  The drive lid being raised like that bugs me though.  I would sooner add a section at the part line to raise the entire top half to try and keep it cleaner and closer to the original Saturn shape.

yeah, i saw that, but i think the saturn case is still a bit too bulky for what i'd have in mind.  if there were a way to get something about the size of a JVC X-Eye "neptune-ized" and have it look not as totally gross as it does, then i'd be all over it.

Well, if you work off of a CDX, it's probably very possible to make it smaller - maybe around the size of a model 2 Genesis, but it might be trickier to make everything fit correctly.

Yup, CDX would make it a cinch to squeeze into a tight shell.  Hell, prolly fit it into a SNES phat

Looking at my CDX with 32X attached sitting right under my SNES phat, I can confirm that it would easily fit in that size of shell, maybe smaller with some adjustment.

Hey wiggy not sure how you are producing the shells but I hear shapeways.com is about the most economical. Can't wait for you to start sellin the snes shells =D
