Amazing work.

As long as we are making requests, I will throw an RGB mod request out there.

I think I can handle a region mod just fine.  I've done just about every other mod to one so far, and the write-ups for that mod don't look too bad.  I'll definitely let you know ;)

Do you want to try to do the RGB mod to my N64s, if I don't find  local person to do it?

I have US N64 and French N64, and both are the model that can be RGB modded.

Yup, that's no prob.  It's on my list of mods/services that I plan on offering ;)

Do you have a link to an FAQ?  I haven't looked into that mod at all yet.

Not yet.  I'm slowly working with my web guy to get things together.  I'm trying to piece 3 sites together at once (re-building www.wiggyshifties.com, Wiggy Design corp. site, and a site for this yet-to-be-named line of products), so it's gonna take some serious work.

In the meantime I may start a FB page for it to use as a blog for progress if that's something that folks would be interested in.  Maybe if I have time this weekend...

Model is done!  Here's a quick preview of one of the parts.  There ended up being a lot more engineering required than I initially thought, but it's all sorted out now and everything works without issue (in the model at least).  Hopefully I'll have a prototype in a week or two!

Do you plan on future shells for other consoles to follow this styling,  or do you envisage each having it's own look?

Thank you, sir!

Well, it sort of depends on a few things.  One of which is what you guys, the customer want.  I was hoping to treat brands as a family.  So, Nintendo consoles would share an aesthetic similar to this one, but Sega, Neo-Geo, Atari, etc could be completely different.  I'd like to try and pull design cues from each of the consoles so they don't end up looking super foreign or anything like that.  I've actually been thinking about the Genesis a bit lately.  I think that's gonna be a fun one to do ;D

I'd love an alternative shell for the master system mk 2.  That's the ugliest piece of plastic I own.

You want a yellow wiggy-SNES?  :P

Also, I have to get this out of my system, even if it derails my own thread a bit.

Prometheus is the worst piece of crap I've seen in about 10 years.  Ugh.  So bad.

Holy crap, awesome progress! Wiggy, are you doing the engineering yourself, or are you working with a mechanical/plastics engineer? I also see that you are running SolidWorks! Nice software choice  ;D

Also saw Prometheus, I thought it wasn't that bad, visuals were sick though...

Thanks!

I'm doing all the engineering myself at the moment.  Luckily it's not terribly complicated, just some pretty tight tolerances, and the fact that I'm building around something that already exists without having its original CAD data to work with is a PITA.  I spend a good day and a half re-building the guts from scratch just to make sure everything fits nice and tight.

As a die-hard Alien fan, I just can't be happy about anything in that film, right down to the bit of fan service at the end that managed to take all that was cool about Giger's design and obliterate it.  I prolly woulda though it was OK if I wasn't such a fan of the original.
