New Project, looking for input & gauging interest

Looks great wiggy! I'm cool with exposed controller ports.
Maybe an alternative to the doors would be to have a sort of front cover panel that has short male ends of the controller ports, so you could cover them up with it by plugging it in, then remove it when you want to play. Or maybe two small covers with short male ends?

i was thinking the same, maybe you can add those little details in a deluxe edition or something.

Hmm, hadn't thought about something like that. That's not a bad idea 8) Thanks!
I'm sort of bummed, because I really wanted to add that feature. I feel that it would really kick up the classy level. But, it poses some engineering difficulties such as how to make the area between the doors and the controller ports deep enough for the door(s) to swing open without interference and still be able to leave enough of the controller plug sticking out so that the user can actually remove it without having to pull the cord itself (eeeek!), let alone the cost issue.
I figure I'll keep this unit as affordable as possible without compromising the look and quality. Being that I'm offering a new product, and this is a new market for me, I need to earn the reputation for having a quality product. So, I feel that the price should be just such that people will buy it without too much concern for it being completely new to the market. Then, once I've amassed a customer base and (hopefully) some positive reviews, I'll up the complexity a bit. The Neo Geo MVS is going to require a good amount of R&D, so hopefully I can ride on a bit of that positive review that I mentioned when eventually offering it as a premium product ;D
Alright, back to modeling the power and reset switches...

can i just say from the outset, i want a black one of these, prefitted with an NTSC SNES and shipped to France. Mostly to play my JAP games on without a convertor, but also because it looks amazing. I would refuse to have a standard US SNES on my shelf as I hate the styling.
As soon as you know the costings, please give me a shout - as I definitely want it.
edit: and if you chose to stick a region mod in there too so i could use it for my PAL games, I might even wet myself a little bit. ;D
wiggy:
I think I can handle a region mod just fine. I've done just about every other mod to one so far, and the write-ups for that mod don't look too bad. I'll definitely let you know ;)
Ugh, so I just hit a little measuring boo-boo that I made early on in the rebuilding of the SNES internals. Of course one little mistake early in the process created bigger errors as I went along. So, I'm correcting a bunch of little crap right now. No fun at all. It sucks when you're working with something so tiny (I'm talking like .35mm throwing off the fitment of the entire controller port assembly) because measuring the damned thing in the first place can yield slightly varied results. I've got a pretty decent digital caliper, but some of these parts and dimensions are way tiny. Reverse engineering is freakin' lame. Oh well.
