Mystery NES Console

I have been looking online and cannot even find an image of the NES console I am looking for.  It was released for a very short period of time before Nintendo launched the top-loader model -- The one I'm looking for is the toaster model, but with 4 controller ports.  No, I'm not talking about the 4-score or satellite accessories --  it was an actual NES built with 4 controller ports.  WAL-MART even had a huge sign over their electronics department advertising it when it was released.  Does anyone know if it had a name or can even find a picture of it?

Never heard of it either, neighter has Wikipedia.

Might have been some Unlicenced one or photo of prototype of top loader.

I'm willing to bet Wal-Mart was selling a package with the Satellite or Fourscore.   If you're only recollection of it is from a Wal-Mart banner, then I'd blame fuzzy memory.  That would easily have been 20+ ago that you saw that banner.

I remember several adds talking about four player when the 64 came out, but nothing for the nes.

I don't blame you for thinking that, but I know what I saw.  Perhaps I should have ponied out the sign hanging over the electronics department was AT wal-mart, it was not a "wal-mart" sign, meaning it did not say the word "wal-mart" on it.  I remember it clearly, it had the same background as this product with the stars and the 4 player logo, but it was the console with 4 plugs built right in:  http://www.retrogamingconsoles.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/nes-four-score.png
It may also be worth noting that it wasn't until youtube that we learned the top-loader model did indeed have a few models made with composite out.  Granted they were only given by Nintendo as replacements, but they did exist!
I saw the sign many times, my mom took me there once a week.  And I remember it was $199 and there was no way a 4-score or satellite would have cost that much.  I told my mom I wanted it and she said no way because she said I already have an NES and she wasn't buying another one.  Perhaps it was deemed to be a failure and removed from the market very fast -- just like that Genesis accessory DS-16 that allowed you to switch between games -- I still have only found two pics of that on the web!

You can only find 2 pics of the DS-16?!  There are all kinds of videos, pics, and whatnot about the it all over the web.  Hell, I saw one every time I went to Kiddie City as a kid.


I can't imagine info about something like that hasn't surfaced yet, but stranger things have happened...
