Definitely not the standard way of doing it, high initial startup cost to get them made. Most repro makers don't sell enough to warrant the cost/volume required to do something like this.

That's pretty awesome that they're making their own boards from scratch!  I notice a little 3V output on the top.  I wonder what they were planning on using that for?  Light up carts? LOL!

It'd be really cool if Nintendo realized that retro gaming is growing into a significant market.  Hell, there are NEW SNES games coming down the pipeline from users in physical form.  How totally fucking super awesome would it be if Nintendo started up SNES production of some sort and offered a Net Yaroze-like kit for users to develop with?  Something that would make developing easy for someone like myself who has lots of creative drive, but not much in the way of computer technical know-how.

One can only wish...
