Or if you system gets stolen, like my launch day Wii was.  >:(

It's for a couple of reasons. One is to give yourself something tangible. Also, by using the SD card, you save a ton of space, since the Wii has hardly any. And when all is said and done, cases like help show just how large your collection really is. Despite my hate at Nintendo's lack of account system akin to XBL or PSN, I still have a few Virtual Console and WiiWare titles. Having cases for them on my shelf, even if they were empty, helps to show just how large my collection really is, and reminds me that I have these games, which can be easily forgotten on days when you're bored and want to play something.

I actually have about a dozen VC games that I purchased really early on. Ironically, I have almost all of them in a physical format.  I owned almost every title released in the 1st six months, but still thought it was kinda neat to have them in a vapor format legally.  Then I realized that I've purchased Zelda 1 and 3 in every other form that they've been released in.  Why on Earth do I have to buy this title over and over?  I feel like I should get a free digital version just for having purchased all the other incarnations.  Game companies need to do that whole free digital copy thing.  I wanna rip carts to my Wii.  How sweet would that be?!

I sucks because some titles are ONLY releases digitally.  Bastion, Limbo, and Journey just to name a few.  I really like those games, and I don't want to miss out just because of my aversion to DLC >:(

Dude, that blows about your Wii.  Did you try contacting Nintendo?  They have awesome customer service.  They may be able to help you out.
