mariocaseman:
I have had my Playstation 3 for two years now and am convinced it was a waste of $300.  I have 5 games and I never even touch them.  I'm a Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong Country, Crash Bandicoot kind of guy.  Can anyone recommend any games for this system I may like?  I already have the Sonic games for it.

Ratchet and Clank games I quess might tickle your interest. And Jak and Daxter collection.
God of War games? Uncharted games? Sly Cooper games?

There are lots of great platformers on PSN.  In terms of retail games, some of the disney releases, while aimed at the younger end of the market are pretty good platform adventures (i played cloudy with a chance of meatballs to the end, and enjoyed it).  i've said it before, and i'll say it again inFamous is a truly brilliant game. loved, loved, loved it.  Then theres plenty outside of your comfort zone that are great and can be picked up relatively cheap: wipeout fury, singstar (great with a buch of drunk friends), motorstorm, pain, buzz.

if you don't have already on 360, then the need for speed games, burnout paradise, skate franchise, lego games, virua tennis, fifa.  All worth a play imho.

If it's strictly cutesy platformers you are after, and the ones on PSN don't float your boat, then i'd save your cash and hold out for nintendo's next console.

There is always Little Big Planet, but everybody owns, has played, and loves that game. Arseen's recommend Jak HD Collection is a great recommend, considering it is made by the team who made Crash Bandicoot. One that isn't Console Exclusive would be Rayman Origins. You can get it for the Wii/360/PC as well, but the PS3 version looks amazing. Also, up to 4 player Co-Op doesn't hurt.

Also, if it ISN'T just "cutesy" games you like when it comes to patformers, and you aren't opposed to PSN, some specific ones I'd recommend are Outland (also on 360), and to seriously look into Journey. It's not quite like what you've said you liked( Journey, I mean,), but if you give it a chance, you are in for an incredible treat.

Nintendo kind of has the market on Old School style Platformers right now (and probably always will).
