Thank ypou for the edit, I'll add it the storage soon.

We too have some old Juhannus traditions (not done often anymore, especially number 3).
1: Picking up 7-11 different flowers and putting them under your pillow to see your future partner in your dreams.
2: Looking into a well too see your future partner's reflection in the water.
3: Young women running naked in fields for fertility.
4: Counting Cuckoo birds's cuckoos to see how many years one still lives.

Traditions still going strong are:
5: Sauna at lakeside while beating yourself with vasta/vihta (punch of birch branches with leafs). I know this sounds masokistic but it's actually very pleasant.
6: HEAVY drinking.
7: Watching bonfires.
8: Barbequing.

Somehow, I think 3 must be very effective and 6 sounds kind of universal ¿?
Have a great friday ;)

Hello everyone!

I feel like am reaching out to some rehab center, regarding my addiction of collecting games :-) "Hello my name is Vlad and I am a game collector addict - heeeeellooooo Vlaaaad" hahaha...hehe...heh ... Ok.

So, my name is Vlad, I am 28 years old and I enjoy collecting video games. I don't enjoy playing them as much as I love buying them, finding deals/rares on ebay-like sites and, recently, reprinting their covers. I am from Romania, I have a license diploma in Computer Science, Applied Informatics and, for 7 years now, my day job has been a developer in a multinational.

I used to repair broken down portable game consoles - I had my phase with nintendo consoles (gameboys, 3ds-es) but it passed. I used to have a 50+ PSP game collection and fixed and sold a couple of PSP-3000s, but didn't really stick to me (I still have a custom built, transparent blue, PSP 3000 in mint condition that I use to run emulators, but I sold everything else). PSVita and PS4, though, it's something that I somehow gravitate towards (I currently have +140 games in my collection). I bought the PS4 as a Black Friday deal, and never regretted my choice (upgraded to PS4PRO recently). I bought the Vita out of impulse, along with my brother, and even though I don't play it that much, I enjoy the exclusivity of the platform and the rarity of the games. It's a blessing and a curse, really ...

Some time ago I bought a loose version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 +, for the Vita, and couldn't rest having it without a case. I managed to find a case but didn't have a cover. I printed the first thing I found online and thought I was done with it. However, suddenly having the power to print my own covers, allowed me to develop a new (expensive) hobby, and that is to "fix" the covers I already have.

I just cannot stand plain looking game cover sides. Black Arial-like text on white backgrounds, white texts on black backgrounds, lazily slapped on texts on otherwise beautiful artwork? Yeah, I hate those. So much potential is being wasted with the sides of the physical copies of the games. I decided to scan the covers with plain texts, modify the side and reprint the cover. Many iterations, wasted hours and some spent cash later, I reached a point where most of my Vita games have reprinted covers. The next step is the PS4 games. I decided to share my scans and modified covers, and this is how I reached The Cover Project.

I hope I have the chance to contribute to the project!

Cheers!

Where are they?
Those sound great.

If you uploaded them via cover upload... Unfortunately I have to tell that that function has been broken for a while now.
Instead please make Mediafire or Box (there are other ones too but these two we know won't screw up the covers like some other ones do) account and upload the covers there and then make new nice topic where you link them.

Thank you.

Abso-f***ing-lutely nothing.
Nope. ::)

I'm starting to think we are abandoned.
But we can make this work quite well by Mediafire or Box, and some re-stucturing of the boards.

And of course there is the "dark side/site" that could work.
That too is abandoned but there I have more power as I'm one of the 3 or 4 Full Admins.

For those of you who know Snowcone personally, have you tried to contact outside of the site?
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Yeah, that's my question as well.  If Snowcone is to busy / lost his drive for it, can it be handed off to someone else?

It seems like we still got a decent community / traffic here and we get new members that are willing to help out but I think interest drys up some when you come to the site and see nothing has been updated in a long time.

Hi All!

Long time listener, first time poster.  I've been playing NES games since the console debuted in the 80's.  Since I started collecting, TCP has been my go-to for box art.  This place is awesome!  Looking forward to getting to know some of you guys a bit better.

Merry Christmas, hopefully Santa brings you the retro game you've been hoping for!

Just out of curiosity, do you have Game Gear boxes that you can scan?

Hi Everyone!

I used to have an account here long, long ago, but it faded away... :( Anyway, I recently reopened it, given that I've been purchasing the EXCELLENT CGC cases for the few NES and SNES cartridges I own, not to mention for my GBA Everdrive X5, which fits PERFECTLY in the CGC GB case! Hope to drop by at least once a week to engage with the community. Until next time!
