Yikes! What a tragic introduction! I'm sadden to hear how you came to us. However, I hope I speak for all of us but we are glad you're here. My story isn't as tragic as yours but I started the cover project after my home had been burglarized. Years worth of games had been stolen and I had to start all over. The cover project has a great community. Welcome!

Figured I should post in here. I've been a follower of The Project for many years, but have never really paid much attention to the forums (sorry!). I've been collecting consoles since I was a kid and got into arcade collecting around 2003. Anyone from the KLOV, NeoGeo, CAG, or a few other random forums might recognize me. Now that I have a house, I'm trying to scale down my cartridge collection to only those that I really care about having and in the process, getting nice cases for them and of course printing nifty covers as well. The main point of the 'scale down' is to make room for other things in the game room ;)

I have a bunch of NES and SNES BitBoxes coming this week, so once I have those all ready to go, I'll probably post a picture thread, though it won't be as impressive as most here. Give me time, though, and I'll catch up ;)

Welcome, Mattroid! If you're looking to case your GB games, there are 2 great new options so you don't have to hack up DS cases anymore.

I believe StoneAgeGamer will be releasing GB BitBoxes soon (their deluxe EverDrive-GB will start coming with this kind of case), and their N64 cases should follow this fall.

Also ShadowFox of CustomGameCases.com has recently created some very versatile cases that can hold GB, GBC and GBA and line up perfectly with DS. He also has plans for Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Game Gear and a lot more down the road.

ShadowFox is working on NES cases next, and I believe member SeymoreOnion was also making a variety of cases, but I'm not sure what the latest is there.

Thanks for the welcome, TyrannicalFascist! I'll probably be picking up the GB BitBoxes when they come in. I need to go through my GB collection and see what's staying and what's going and how many cases I'll needed. What I'd really like to see if someone repro the NGPC clam shell cases, but that's a pretty niche market. I haven't decided if I want to use those same BitBoxes for my GBA carts or if I'd rather just use DS cases instead. DS cases will likely take up less room, so I'm probably leaning that way, and I already have a bunch of spares.

There is 3rd option:

Same size and quality as original US DS cases, but added ability to hold GB and GBC games without modification.

    • The PSX Datacenter
Hi everyone, I'm gladiator from the PSX Datacenter. I got some hires covers from this board and I credited them when the user put it like akrate69 that help a lot in the NTSC-U hires covers in the site.
http://psxdatacenter.com

But I was usually lazy to register until today, so just wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone that has provided covers in a way or another to the site (even if most of you never heard about it at all).

As usual all in the PSX Datacenter is free to use so you can get all the covers that you want, only if a cover is contributed to the site please put the name of the user that contributed it if you want to use it.
Thanks.

Hey guys!  The names Ed, I'm Iraqi but I live in Detroit.

I work as a casino dealer and am going to college for pre-med.

I've always been a gamer and I've recently gotten into collecting.  I've browsed the site for a while and decided that I would go ahead and join.

Nice to meet everyone! :D

Hi all! Ben from Tennessee here.

I'm 33, started with games when I had an Atari 5200. I could school anyone on some Joust!  I've had most all of the systems since then, and due to a military stint as well as traveling, I let go of most of my games through the years.  But recently, I've gotten the bug to rebuild my old collection.  Collecting has become a little more expensive and difficult these last few years, but I always pick up old games when I can find them, and for the games that got expensive, I use my electronic skills to make them (solely for my own collection).

Like most everyone here, I'm super OCD about having my collection look good and accurate on my shelf, lol.  The first cover I want to make (for fun) is a Megaman and Bass (with a bass fish) which I thought would be pretty entertaining.  Then, I'll start working on some more serious covers.

Nice to meet everyone!
I'm bender3455 on playstation network, feel free to add me!

It's been a while since I had a forum account anywhere. I joined up here because I have a collection of games that needed covers. Then I found the forum here and liked the discussions and wanted to join in. I keep track of my collection using an Excel spread sheet. Most of my collection has been scavenged at rummage sales or flea markets. Although it has gotten harder lately because my cousin moved to town and he is fanatical of hunting down video game deals. He buys a lot to resell. I buy to keep. All of my systems are US models. I only have one Japanese game, OOT, because i found it dirt cheap in box and love the zelda series. My collection is one that's made to be played. I am not the person to spend the money on "mint in box" stuff. My drive to collect was fueled by wanting to share the experience of the game with friends (and by the terrible trade-in value of games). Offering me $2 for a game i know your going to sell for $20? Never! never traded in.

As for myself, I am a full time student working for an associates degree. I should finish this semester. I am also a full time worker. I have very little free time at the moment. In the future I hope to have a better job, more free time, and my own house I can build a proper game room in. I live with my fiance. We have been together for years hope to get married next summer. I hope when i am done with school i will have the time to dust off Photoshop and see if I can make anything of quality. I would also like to make a "lets play" with my collection.

I am very excited for shadowfox's cases. I will show a pic of my collection later. I also have some pretty amazing game hunting tales.

so that's me.  :D

Sean here. Been lurking for a couple weeks - just getting back in to old Nintendo systems again (I've got a huge 360 collection though).

Few items I'm not entirely clear about - are there just tons of places I need to be looking for covers? There are the covers in the site database, which are easy enough to find, but it seems tracking down custom covers can be especially challenging in the forum. Are there other sources around for completed covers? I've also seen a number of games come up as requests and regulars state they were about to upload them years ago, only for nothing else to ever come about.

I've probably registered a dozen times in the last couple weeks because the forum keeps saying that my username doesn't exist. Is this because my account is being culled for not making a post or is something else the matter here?

Only the perfect covers make it to the site.

Lesser quality covers stay on the boards, even the near perfect ones.
And before you point out that there are bad quality covers in database also: Yep but those are from the time before current quality standarts.

Eventually you might get access to areas of boards where there are more organised topics where only near pefect covers end up, and where posting is restricted to maintain organized look.
All those covers are available on the normal boards aswell but as people post here and there and everywhere they tend to get lost.

As why not all covers promised cover show up is that, maker might have been buzy, or determined that cover was not good enough in the end after all.

I've probably registered a dozen times in the last couple weeks because the forum keeps saying that my username doesn't exist. Is this because my account is being culled for not making a post or is something else the matter here?

How shall I say it... Shit happens sometimes when fighting spam. ;D

Anyway welcome to the site.

Contribute, behave and enjoy... in that order. 8)

Technically this is a re-introduction. I was a member of TCP a few years ago, although after the forum transition I kind of lost my account and didn't reactivate until recently. Glad to see the community is still going strong though, and I look forward to contributing again!  ;D
