Go Lions!
After finding this site I went out and bought 200 UGCs and have been slowly converting all my carts over to them.  I now need to figure out some new shelving ideas but there are worse problems to have.
First world problems. Don't you love them?

Hey all,

I'm a 25 year old gamer from England living not too far from Liverpool. Always been into gaming since getting a Megadrive as a present, very soon after that got a game boy and a master system and i was pretty much hooked. A clear lilac GBC and pokemon yellow then cemented the deal.

I have owned most sega/sony/xbox home systems and the nintendo handhelds, however sold off pretty much all of my collection for drink money while in uni. The wound is still raw...

Right now I have a xbox, xbox 360, PS2, GBA, DS and a wii. Waiting for an ebayed dreamcast to arrive in the post. Only really found out about this site recently (in the last week) and I am stunned at how amazing you all are.

Regards,

I know what you mean. As a teenager I traded in, sold, and gave away my NES/SNES collection. I've been kicking myself ever since I started trying to rebuild my library.

Yeah it haunts constantly lol, especially when I see stuff going for a pretty penny and all I can do is stand there and think, yeah I had that ....

Glad I'm horder, all my games are still safe with me, as are 99% of manuals.

Only thing that bugs me is that I didn't manage to save the boxes. :'(

Only really have two boxed games, FF tactics advance and pokemon yellow, thing is they do tend to get pretty darn scruffy. Tempted to DS box them both but what to do with the boxes then?

Yeah think i'll just get a folder and try to collapse them neatly. If i'm boxing the rest in DS cases it'll be nice for them to match.

A safe box would probs be a better idea, as i said its only one or two boxes and being slightly OCD it would be nice if they all matched lol.

Haha cheers for having me fellow angleo saxon!

hi everyone. my name is thomas. im 20, living in tacoma washington, and living off of odd jobs now. i have a website, indoorempire.com, but it's more of a hobby than anything else.

i've always been interested in video games, but i only got serious about them when i got into game magazines when i was young. i always thought the reviews were so cool, and somehow that translated into loving video games. doesn't make much sense, i know, but that's 8-year-old-me logic for you. as it is now, my collection is edging on 1000 games. this site has been very helpful in making my collection look good, but its introduced a new problem. when i had loose carts and discs, they didnt take up too much space, but now i dont have enough space to display any of them well.

i have a ps1, ps2, xbox, xbox 360, psp, n64, wii, gamecube, snes, nes, genesis, and a ds. i have a whole pile of different gameboys too.

right now my project is casing my pc games. i wanted to make some custom dvd cases for them all, so that way all of my pc games will have a standard design.

other things i like are reading (stephen king especially), and music, mostly pop and punk.

i hope that was a good enough introduction - if anyone feels like pointing me in a direction that would help with my project, i would appreciate it!

Hi Thom and welcome!

I've not been a member long and never actually introduced myself.

I'm 28 from rural Virginia.  I've not been collecting long so my collection isn't too impressive yet. I'm probably at around 600 total games with over half of those being NES.  I also collect anything cartridge based Nintendo and Sega as well as a few of the disc based consoles.  I'm more active with Nintendo I suppose.

I love that there are so many people here who love the aesthetic side of collecting and devote their time and hard work into reproducing and reimagining the covers.  This site is very awesome and aside from making a bunch of pesky requests, I hope to one day contribute to it as well.

Hello and thanks for the awesome website!

PS - Like Thom, I too have a website, www.citizengamer.net.  It's your run of the mill gaming blog but we have high aspirations for the future!
I write a gaming blog. You can check it out if you're into that kind of thing by going here.

if i want to make my own covers, do i have to make them in the same way as the ones i see on the site or could i make them unique? like, my own template for pc games, for instance. and where would i do that?

I've posted a lot of nonsense and forgot to post in the intro thread.

I love to play videogames and collect figures. My favorite system is the SNES. I love Castlevania, Metroid, Zelda, Metal Gear, and anything that came from RARE during the Golden Age.

I am a war veteran. The greatest war in history. It took place 10+ years ago. It was the 16-bit console war. I survived and thrived.

My favorite snacks are Pizza (Little Caesars, because it's $5 bucks and it's ready to go, I don't have to pay $20+ or pay some sweaty deliveryman a tip and I don't want people coming to my house unless I want to) I love that white cheddar popcorn from the grocery that comes in the black bag, but I am not going to say the brand name because it's a stupid name. I like lemonade from a brand called Simply Lemonade because that's what it is, simply f*cking lemonade, I added the f-word for emphasis, but cussing is really unprofessional but I will only do it once in this thread, because people judge you by first impressions, which is kinda shallow, but it's a biopsychosocial trait of the human condition. I'm vegan and I love to do exercise and I never get sick and I will live a long age, but it would be ironic if I get hit by a truck while eating spinach or something. SO if you eat a piece of pork while having sex with several women, go for it, we can die at anytime in our lives for any reason.

Anyways, I love playing hidden gems, you know, the Earthbounds, the SOulblazer, the Demon's Crest, there are a lot of good games that didn't get the spotlight because of Mario and stuff like that.

I like to read National Geographic and I have traveled to many countries, all over the world, like Japan, China, Egypt, etc.

I love my Mom, and I don't care what anyone thinks. She is my only family, and this life you go to stick by those who care about you and not try to impress strangers because they don't care about you, and we tend to neglect the people who are more familiar to us.

I am getting into this whole custom covers and UGCs you kids are into these days and I am glad I found this site.

That's all the info I am going to give you, for now. I am not telling you how old I am or what I do for a living. You are going to have to accept me for who I am unconditionally, or step the heck back.

This is a pic of me and my friend when we  are out looking for videogame deals.
