...why wouldn't it play tengen games or Castlevania III? It's just a connector.

Ive found some of the newer connectors are not quite right. For example Generation Nex by Messiah uses a modded 72pin connector that looks like the top loaders but is the same as the replacement one i got for my nes. It too does not play tegen gauntlet for example.... nor does it play castlevania 3.

However, the toploader plays all perfectly.... just the connection to your tv is rf and sucky.

If I open it up and drill a few holes and do a bit of work, I can have that sucker connecting AV and have no issues.

Then always when you want to play "simply" move the Japanese game's board in toi the empty US shell.

lol thats a great idea.

Along that same line of thought, I have been gutting an extra supermario/duckhunt cart for screws recently, while cleaning my old carts.

Id pay 50 if it came with the original box and manual..... Actually Id pay more (especially if we are talking about Mega Man 6.... that one is rare in the box with the manual.)

--- Quote ---I disagree; some cloned systems may be better than others, but nothing can totally replace the original hardware. I bought a refurbished SNES a few months ago, and it works brilliantly. Only paid about $100 for it, too.

I agree, but I think you paid a bit much. I got a SNES v2 (the smaller one) for $50 on ebay about a year ago. (part of the reason i bought the nes top loader... they match. lol)

Its all about the deals, finding the deal is important.

It has nothing to do with the connector, its the NOAC and mapper incompatibility.
