--- Quote from: Seraph Man on April 20, 2012, 01:39:12 AM ---Don't hate on BBA Mega Man. That was a design choice Keiji Inafune approved of, and it would have been more amusing if not for all the crap Mega Man's been through in the past year. As far as the 25th, all we've got thusfar is Project X Zone, which feature X and Zero, but that doesn't really count. A new compilation would be nice, but it would either just be a rehash of the GCN/PS2 compilations, or maybe a compilation of Mega Man 1-5 for the Gameboy (which they were making for the GBA, but it got shelved), which I would like, but I won't hold my breath. And TF, enjoy those games. The buttons are screwy on the gamecube for the Aniversary Collection, but otherwise it's solid. --- End quote --- The fact that they went through with it after cancelling the two games he was based on (BBA MM being in Universe, and his backstory being based on Trigger from Legends) was insensitive to the community at beast, trolling at worst. Inafking may have approved of it when Capcom was going to release his games, but I doubt he'd approve of it today. Not like it matters since their inability to do anything but re-release Street Fighter games 40 times made him and everyone worth a darn at Capcom leave. I wish they'd just sell the Mega Man franchise to IntiCreates and be done with it. As far as getting a hold of Mega Man games, Atomic Planet did a terrible job on the AC games. Mega Man 7 doesn't have Mode7 effects, Mega Man 8 has toned down graphics and messed up sound, and the NES games have washed out colors and most of the Complete Works bonus features removed (power up parts in 4-6, extra modes, etc). Getting the original games isn't too expensive except for Mega Man 7 (1, 5, and 6 are the expensive NES ones at about 30 a piece), but it's still way cheaper to get the AC when those hover around 10 each on all three consoles. The problem with the original games is getting the original hardware, which if you're going to buy clone hardware, you might as well just emulate the games on PC. Now if you REALLY want to be a baller, you can get the original Japanese releases for even cheaper, but then you'd need a Famicom, Super Famicom, and either a Japanese PS1 or Saturn. Sadly enough, I've got all of that stuff :D |

Well you could just cut tabs in an SNES for the Super Famicom games, and playing imports on Saturn isn't hard at all, and there are adapters for Famicom games... |

I hate that tab cutting method. Before I got my SFC, I picked up a Game Saver device that doubled as a converter. But, I found a SFC for about 35 bucks, and I always liked the look better so I was glad to get it. For Saturn, the Action Replay 4M served me well until I got a White Japanese Saturn (again, aesthetic reasoning there too). Finding a Famicom adapter is pretty hard though, and I just gave up and got a Famicom (60 dollars shipped with 9 games) for playing those. But yes, there are cheaper methods than buying Japanese hardware to play imports. I just like how the Japanese stuff looks 8) |

One cheap but labor intensive way is to buy useless US snes cart and gut it. Then always when you want to play "simply" move the Japanese game's board in toi the empty US shell. |
