Mega Man's 25th
(1/17) > >>
mariocaseman:
Does anyone know if Capcom plans on doing ANYTHING to celebrate Mega Man's 25th Anniversary this year?  I really would like a Wii or PS3 game disc with Mega Man 1-10 on it...  I don't think that is too much to ask for.  But I cannot believe there is nothing on the horizon for this occasion!

Sadly, Capcom hates Mega Man now. No MM Universe, no MML3, no X in MvC3, Trollman in SF X Tekken, the list goes on. I'm a huge Mega Man fan, and it disgusts me how the franchise has been left to circle the bowl. We'll be lucky to get another NES rehash on virtual console this year. My money is on a big fat nothing though.

As a person who really hasn't ever played a Mega Man game very much, I don't know of any plans - I haven't seen anything on any of the gaming news sites I follow like GoNintendo.

However, I did just win the Mega Man Anniversary Collection (which came in today) and Mega Man X Collection for Gamecube on eBay, and I've started by playing Mega Man 1 for the first time.  :)
Seraph Man:
Don't hate on BBA Mega Man. That was a design choice Keiji Inafune approved of, and it would have been more amusing if not for all the crap Mega Man's been through in the past year.

As far as the 25th, all we've got thusfar is Project X Zone, which feature X and Zero, but that doesn't really count. A new compilation would be nice, but it would either just be a rehash of the GCN/PS2 compilations, or maybe a compilation of Mega Man 1-5 for the Gameboy (which they were making for the GBA, but it got shelved), which I would like, but I won't hold my breath.

And TF, enjoy those games. The buttons are screwy on the gamecube for the Aniversary Collection, but otherwise it's solid.

I'm probably going to track down one of those retro controller adapters so I can use my SNES controller on the Gamecube.  ;)
