| Pikmin Overlord:
I too only collect games that I intend to play. However, since about the year 2000 or so, it's been much easier to find older games that I never knew about. I kept virtually every game from my childhood, and was once content with that modest collection, but since I've began collecting many of the games that I never acquired when I was younger, my collection has easily quadrupled. I wouldn't say that it's been cheap, but if I consider how much I've spent on each game against how much it cost when it was originally released, it's really not so bad. The one genre I really enjoy is the platformer, and there is no shortage of great ones on both the NES and SNES. So, I have a large backlog of excellent titles just sitting on my shelf until I can get around to playing them. The sad news is, I'm dying to own games like Little Samson and The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak because I really want to play them, yet their rarity makes that extremely unlikely. Unfortunately, I won't be satisfied until I own all the great games that I want to play. |

Honestly I collect games I grew up with in my childhood. I play most all of them when I have the time. My N64 collection is still growing since it's the console I grew up with the most as a kid. That doesn't mean I don't like consoles I didn't grow up with like the Atari or NES but I found a few good games on them that I enjoy. Modern games don't appeal to me at all so what's the point in buying them, I mean granted I do want a launch PS3 to extend the life of my few PS2 games, same with getting a 360 for my small Xbox collection, and the Wii for my Gamecube collection, although the cube is built tough as it is. Sure there are a few game for the modern systems I like but not enough to start a huge collection over. Will I ever get rid of my collection, absolutely not, I will pass it on to my kids so they can hopefully had the fun I had when playing them. I wish you the very best :) |

No Herzog Zwei, No Rocket Knight Adventures, No Shadowrun (SNES Shadowrun is a completely different game) , No Castlevania Bloodlines, etc. Plus there's the Genesis controller, specifically the official 6-button pad. I friggin' love that controller. --- End quote --- Don't about the Castle of Illusion games. They're often touted as "the best Disney licensed games outside of Kingdom Hearts". --- Quote from: Harp00nX on April 12, 2012, 06:22:42 PM ---I only collect games I intend to play. SNES is my main collecting console I have about 120 carts for it but I dont collect crap only games that were well reviewed. --- End quote --- It's funny. SNES is my first console ever, and probaly the most nostalgic for me, but I really don't think I can even get to 50 without scraping the bottom of the barrel. |

The snes was my teenage years (had a nes, gb and c64 before that) and these were the games I enjoyed the most but i dont have many sports titles either. Just starting to buy some rpg's now :) |
