I am in love with the Gameboy Player,  but I want more :)   I want a player like that for all of the portable systems.  PSP, Gamegear, Lynx, DS and so on.  Does anyone else wish this?

Yep, but:

Game Gear: why the hell Sega didn't do this, or some 3rrd party.
Lynx: Jaguar died too soon for this.
PSP: This would have made copying the games too easy.
DS: Needs touch screen. Maybe with Wii-U and it's tablet controller.

It would be fun to have my DS games show up on the big screen, but there's no current way to control it unless you use the DS as a controller. It may also make touching some things difficult. I suppose the Wii U could technically do it.

Yea that would be sweet wouldn't it?  I mean I can't tell you how many batteries I've gone through with the Gamegear all these years lol.  Wouldn't it be nice to have a player for the TV.  I'd prefer that over playing on the little screens.

Its the paradox with me and handhelds.  I think some of the best videogames ever made were for those handhelds.  The problem with me personally is I get terrible headaches when looking at little screens now.  A player for these systems would be an amazing thing.  I'd buy in a heart beat.

How do you mean?  Like a PSP player for the PS2/PS3?  I mean, you can play PSP games on your TV already.

With the DS that would be sort of impossible because of the whole touch screen thing (how cool would it be if they did make something like that for the Wii U?!).

Haxor that shit!

Play Game Gear on your TV!

Oh I forgot that.

But still maybe playing with Dualshock would be nicer.
Not rumble, but the shape of the controller.

Another thing I would like to be created is a console similar to Retron3 (even though I hate that system).  But for Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Intellivision, Colecovision.  These systems are getting harder and harder to come by and I think a new clone system like this could be beneficial.  With wireless contollers and all.  Obviously it would have to be as close as possible to the original systems.  I'd buy that too.

I'd love to play DS games on the TV - is there a way to show both screens on both the TV and the DS?

My friends and I love playing through Super Mario RPG, and I keep telling them we should find a way to play through the Mario & Luigi games on the TV, since they are the closest to a follow-up we'll get. (Paper Mario is fine, but it's different and unique enough that I don't consider it any kind of Mario RPG sequel) Obviously we'll play Superstar Saga via the Gameboy Player, but it'd be nice to also play through the other 2 games together.

For Game Gear on the TV, it would be cool if some place like Retrozone could create a sort of Super Game Boy for Genesis - they already have a Super Game Boy for NES. Something for those of us who don't really open up our cartridges and start messing with stuff.  :P

EDIT: Looks like this was explored here, by way of Game Gear to Master System, and Master System to Genesis with the Power Base Converter: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?10539-Game-Gear-to-Mega-Drive-Genesis&highlight=game+gear

I'd like to see this too. If I remember correctly, the 7800 already can play 2600 games, so that's 2-in-1 right off the bat. Then you'd just need 3 cartridge slots. Slap on the "wood finish" of the 2600 and I'm sold.

The PSP go can hook up to the TV and use a PS3 controller.

Basically you have to install a CFW on your PS3 over 3.55 to use the dongle.

psx-scene should have more info.

No, there is a special chip in the dongle to prevent reverse engineering and to clone offical Sony dongles which are used to put the PS3 into service mode.

The Cobra Dongle also allows in a way, PS2 compatibility in newer PS3s through software emulation but it sucks. It also makes your PS3 into a region free BD player, which is what I use it for.

You HAVE to be on 3.55 or else its a complete pain.
