MD shui hu feng yu zhuan cover request?
dcdan:
I just purchased this game which took a really long time to find for a chinese boot. This game is really rare and there is probably not much use for a cover on this site but I believe that I have seen a cover on a link here before and I can seem to find it now. I know that djshok is like the repro king when it comes to mega drive but I not sure how to contact him. I think that he is a member on this site. I probably butchered his user name but if any of you have an idea please let me know.
Thanks!
djshok:
Hey, I'm here ;D
That game has been on my to-do list for a long time now. It's a really great game by any standard, not just chinese pirate games. Sadly I haven't been able to find any decent artwork for it. I'd love to get a scan of the original Chinese cover, there are a few versions but the original one looks like this:
That's the best version, there are a few other ones that are either butchered versions of that original, or have nothing to do with the actual game.
As for covers made on here, hombreimaginario made a cover for the game here: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=4312.60 but you'd have to message him to see about using the cover. I think he made that as a paid commission for someone.
dcdan:
That's the one! The label on yours looks a little better than mine but I guess there is no standard when it comes to these games. Anyways, the one that hombreimaginario did is awesome! I'll try to message him to see if he will let me use his work. Thanks again and if we could get a matching label that would be sweet too. Only if I knew how to print labels...I guess I will have to contact gr productions when he opens his shop again. Thanks djshok you're the man! By the way....how did you get some of these reproductions if you don't mine me asking? For example squirel king or pocket monster to name a few.
shenske:
Wait ... Is this kind of a knock off of The King of The Dragons? I was watching a video on youtube and quite a few of the levels look very familiar while some levels are entirely different ???
djshok:
Squirrel King and Pocket Monster I bought from various forum sales a while ago. They're actually the chinese pirate "originals", technically not repros. Though if you want repros of them I'd suggest sending MrMark a message: http://segaage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?StartRow=1&catid=43&threadid=44526
Shenske, this game is a chinese pirate title, so it rips off a lot of official releases. I never played King of The Dragons, so I can't comment on that one, but they definitely "borrowed" a lot of content from Knights of The Round. Also, the main title theme is Terra's Theme from FF6 lol. Despite being a copyright lawyer's wet dream this game is still a lot of fun and plays a lot better than Knights of The Round :P and quite a few other officially released brawlers. I wrote about it in an article for Sega-16, if you want a little more info: http://www.sega-16.com/2011/11/hacks-homebrews-top-tier-pirate-games/
