I think its pointless to sell pirated/bootleg games,  One its a waste, two You have a large chance of getting cought, especially if its a collector.

The vast, vast majority of people buying used (recent) games on eBay aren't collectors though.  They're moms buying games for their 4 year old who got a hand-me-down Game Boy Advance.

Before you send it back, open up the casing and drill a small hole through the game board.  Close it back up so if he does resell it, he'll have to deal with another return on it as well.

Some of the games that are like SNES and N64 that claim to be brand new could also be bootleg,  It doesnt take much hard work to print up a box and cartrige and plastic tight it.  I saw a PSone game claiming to be brand new and wraped up, but it was missing the Playstation seal sticker on the top, if anyone remembers them.

Reseals being passed off as new is kinda a different thing than bootlegs.

The amount of GBA bootlegs going around is absolutely ridiculous. You run into them on ebay, you run into them in the wild, it's just nuts.

UncleBob's being a bit overzealous here I think. I honestly doubt that the vast majority of ebay sellers (especially US ones) have any clue they're selling a bootleg. I don't think we should be jumping down this guy's throat or trying to punish him for it.

The cartridge seems very cheap and could prye open with my hands.  I can see this is not a geniuine copy,  I can see the board clearly.  Nintendo has it completely sealed with theirs.

Its too bad GameStop dont sell Classic games just curret games or I'd buy from them.  If its a game store why not sell all games then.  All their stores I been to are all very small and dont know why.

Most of his other auctions look legit,  I can't tell about the famicom games I know nothing about them.  Although he does have one other copy of that same Mario Kart game for sale.

Most GBA bootlegs I've ran into use tiny phillips head screws.

So, at what point does this guy get to be held accountable for his actions?  He's gotten several feedbacks saying what he's selling is counterfeit.  Patrick, here, has contacted him telling him it's counterfeit - and he's already selling the exact same auction on eBay again.

When does he have to take responsibility for what he sells?

From what I  understand, GS stores are small and cramped because large stores with open space appear to have a "lack of inventory".

Play N Trade does retro stuff at least, though they're franchised so whether a store near you is any good is kinda a toss in the air.

Just report his auctions then.

They do, sort of  They offer retro games via thier point system. I don't do business with them so I don't know the power up thingy.  I know a copy of Super Mario Bros. for the NES is 25-26,000 points.  No that isn't a typo.  Unless that has been changed recently.

eBay won't do anything about it.  They make money from sellers, not from random internet nerds with too much time on their hands.  Unless the copyright holder comes forth themselves, eBay doesn't care.

He does need to to be held accountable.  I would definitely contact Ebay over this.

I've done a bit of that.

Even got one of those stupid mall kiosks selling 10,000-in-1 crappy NES ROM hacks on a chip things shut down once. :D

However, in this particular case, I'm giving a burned buyer information on how to best proceed. :D
