Printing UGC covers at Staples

--- Quote from: Maben on April 05, 2012, 07:44:33 AM ---Edit: Oh and while I was out, I managed to pick up a copy of Resident Evil 2 for the GC from Gamestop for only $19.99. And amazingly it was complete with manual and original box/art, seemingly near mint condition. I was nothing short of shocked, I already had AppleQueso's cover on my flash drive to print out at the Kinko's lol. This is going for upwards of $40 on Ebay and Amazon, just thought people might be interested to know. The guy also said that now that they are no longer accepting Gamecube stuff that the prices may come down (maybe I can get a steal on Pikmin 2 in the future!)

Actually the gamecube versions or Resident Evil 2 and 3 got reprints a couple years ago and have been selling for ~$20 new (and not much less used) ever since.
Gamecube Code Veronica X never got a reprint though, unfortunately, and still costs a good amount.
Glad you like my RE covers btw. I'm still really proud of those.

This is definitely off topic, but this has pretty much been my experience during my search for RE2 on the GC:

And yeah I like your covers a lot. Plus the RE2 retail cover looks pretty much like a raw scan (needs to be touched up A LOT) so yours are a great alternative.

Don't recall exactly, though I remember looking. It was definitely an Adobe program, but not Photoshop. Could have been Acrobat Pro perhaps?

That's probably why he didn't have any issues printing. Adobe softs understand the file size in not only actual pixel count, but the proper dimensions too. The other place was most likely using MS Paint or some other crap to print from, which is about the worst thing you can do.
I used Kinko's for a bunch of stuff while in school (art), and I rarely had problems with the one that I went to. Plus it was open 24/7, which meant I could go at 3am the day a project was due and actually get it done in time :D

That's... ridiculous. What the? Ebay's the same thing...
...I guess the price shot back up. Maybe they stopped putting out the reprints?
Glad I picked up my copy when you could still find them for 20 new...

look at the 2009/2010 prices. Until very recently you could easily get it for <$25

I had no idea those were worth anything. Thank goodness I picked up all the GC REs when they were DIRT cheap after the GC died when prices for pretty much all the softs bottomed out. Well, at least for the first 6 or so months afterward until collectors really started looking to pick up the best titles.
