Paper used for covers?

I'm new to the cover project.  I greatly appreciated what all of you are doing here.

I don't know if it has been said before in an early thread but I was wondering where to get the same quality paper that the retail cover art has.

I'm very OCD when it comes to video games; I guess I'm in the right spot haha.  I want that same type of paper for all of my Universal game cases, DVD cases and DS cases etc.

Also I have an Original Intellivision Commando box that is quite rare.  Should I upload it?

In terms of paper, semigloss seems to be a favorite, though I find that if you find a shop willing to print on magazine paper (which I believe is a semigloss), the accuracy is amazingly close.

As for the size of the sheets, A4 (international) or Legal (US) is the size you want to aim for, unless you're going to a print shop, which will allow for more paper size options.

I use Epson Enhanced Matte paper. I personally wouldn't use anything else at this point. Been using it for about 10 years. Love, love, love it. Not cheap, but entirely worth it if you want quality.

Also, it's archival (when used with good, OEM inks).

For DVD cases (and smaller) I use whichever Brochure Paper is on sale amongst the "name" brands -- it's nearly perfect for DVD covers.

Haven't found anywhere local that sells Brochure Paper in legal sizes though... so going to have to start looking when I want to start printing my CD Poly case covers (that or send $$ Soundwave's direction and see if he'd be willing to print them for me )

Thankyou for all of the advice.  I'll  try the less expensive option first.

I'm am not a huge fan of these Poly cases I prefer the DVD cases.   I think it keeps my collection Uniform, I'm even to the point that I may take my 3do, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1 and PC games and move them all to DVD cases.  I would get rid of the Original cases obviously, I might put them around the room as display.

Does anyone else do this or just keep there Jewel Cases, and monstrous 3do boxes?

I keep ALL my original boxes/cases.

Yea I guess I don't plan on getting rid of any boxes/cases but I do intend to put all of my cartridges in Universal Game Cases and CD based games in DVD cases.  Except PS3 I guess they can stay in BlueRay cases.
